**** Please read - Reminder from your Mod

Hey my illustrious goat folks and avid thread posters,

I wanted to take a minute to remind all of you of our "be nice" policy that is in place in the goat forum and is a general requirement of users of the Homesteading Today site.

It is always a delicate balance managing directness and diplomacy and I appreciate any effort that each of you can make. There is an incredible amount of experience and knowledge on this site. At the same time, there are some very strong opinions that differ. For myself, I can overlook some strong comments and directness in exchange for the value of the expertise that I have the opportunity to leverage. Please remember that not everyone sees it that way.

The last thing any of us want is for newcomers and more timid users to miss out on advice because they are reticent to post for fear of the more aggressive responses.

Please let me know if you have any questions about what is and isn't appropriate and feel free to discuss this topic here on this thread.

Thanks all. Personally, I think I have the best forum and greatest group of folks on the site. Don't tell the other Mods I said so.

Cliff

I, apparently, have come across stronger than I intended at times. It was not intentional, and I apologize to anyone that I may have offended.

Oh Minelson, you wouldn't see the brown on anything!! Weren't you the poster who found a goatberry on your night stand???? You never saw that either until it started screaming at your DH. You smiled and asked it "How did you get there?" while Gretta was at the laundry room window snickering. That post sure upset my delicate balance; but did I complain?? No..ooo…

Billooo2, you aren’t coming across nearly as strongly as Ruben; Man he is getting ripe and early this year. Apology accepted … now to work on one from Ruben.

OK so if I see one more poster not playing nicely, you two will be the first I tell. I expect a reciprocal commitment should either of you see one, because I suffer from the same inability.

Just ONE? Amateur.

I'll see your berry and raise you a tinkle. Tango peed on the family room floor once. 'Course he was wearing a santa hat at the time so it might have been a revenge thing

I should have made a complaint about Minelson feeding Gretta telephone wires... and then having her DH banish the beautiful little head to the luxorious goat enclosure and house... which is larger than my lake cabin As we all know goats should be allowed to roam free LOL... too funny!!!

Just the floor? Pffffft. Emily peed on the couch several times - fortunately, it's leather. The last straw was when she learned to jump on the dining room table.

Oh yeah?

How about the time my Daisy was in the house - She wandered about the house until I heard hooves on the floor downstairs. Promptly shooed her outside and made sure to securely shut the door, and cleaned up the messes she made of the counters and table which she walked on. I was suprised to find no puddles or berries anywhere, however.

Later, my Dad came home and asked if I let the goat in the house, to which I answered "Of Course not!" He then led me to his bedroom, where Daisy had pooed and peed on his bed SEVERAL times. This is the guy who did NOT want any goats, too.

BTW: We hand raised one of our ND doelings in the house. Once she moved out, she still felt that she belonged in with us and my wife is NOT a livestock-in-the-house type. One day when I came home, I left the door ajar and Fizzee ran in, up the stairs and directly into our bedroom where my wife was folding clothes.

Yeah, I heard about it.
