I want goats

Hi everyone -

I want goats

BUT

I am SO nervous about it - we have a dog & chickens, but I've never had a milking animal.

In doing my research it looks like LaManchas would be good for us.
I understand that I need at least 2 to keep each other company.
I have my chickens in electric fence & could put the goats in w/ them.
I also have housing available.

I'm nervous about: the cost, milking, hoof trimming, diseases, etc.

I don't mean to sound like a wimp, it's just that it's a lot to learn!
I am willing to learn but I'm looking for someone nearby that I can go visit, observe & ask questions.

I have been about ready to just jump into this a million times & I keep waiting for my nerves to calm down. HA Can anyone talk me away from the ledge?? LOL

don't be scared--we all learned as we went!

I live down near Nashville, tho. If ever in this area, you are welcome to visit!

It is a lot to learn, and you are to be commended for doing your research ahead of time!!
