Kiko question

While researching Kiko goats I noticed that all the breeders I looked at did not dehorn their goats. Why is this breed not able to be dehorned?

I don't think that they can't get disbudded I think it's the breeders choice. I think it's kind of like all the boers around my place are not disbudded, by owners choice.

meat producers tend not to be pro dehorning, with dairy your not left with much of a choice. I personally dont care for dehorned goats as they are harder to handle for me, but on the same token theres many who dont want to deal with the compications of having horned goats.
Kikos have a very impressive rack of horns and its part of the breeds charm, more so with the bucks. They wont place as well in shows, but if you want hornless Kikos, maybe you can find a breeder that will disbud some starting stock for you.

Personally, I find it a lot easier to groom my little heard.. with horns, with one person standing up front and holding the horns... and the other doing all the chores. Pygmys here! Good luck!

My Nubians are trained to go where ever you take them as long as you have the collar on their necks. I used to have horns in my herd before I go into dairy and I find that they flip out when you grab their horns. They don't like it so I prefer to train with the collar.

I think that most meat breeders dont disbud. You could if you wanted to though.
