Does this seem odd?

I was reading the description for this and I thought it seemed odd. Why are they getting rid of these goats through adoption? I realize they are crossbreeds, but wouldn't some still be good for milking purposes? http://www.petfinder.com/petnote/dis...petid=13671936

I guess I should have prefaced this by saying I looked several months ago and there were different goats with the same description. So isn't it odd that a farm would keep cross-breeding dairy goats with boer goats and then putting them up for adoption?

In this instance Adoption means Selling. They have found a new way to reach people and sell their goats.

Quote from "adoption" ad:

"Being an animal lover, she hates to see the excess goats being sold for meat, so we offered to put them on our website to be adopted as pets."

A true "animal lover" will understand that many "pet" homes are much less animal friendly than most homes where they will end up in the freezer. I have seen more neglected and starved "pets" than I ever have on a real farm. Oh well, it sounds good but in the long run, the animals suffer for the ignorance of the human trying to "help".
