What breeds do you think
What breeds of goats do you think we have? We was told the solid white doe is part Nubian but not sure on other part. The other doe we was told she was part pygmy/ND. The buck is suppose to be a pygmy.
What do you all think they are?
She nevers gets in trouble until now.
What breed is she?
What breed is she?
What breed is our buck?

Buck looks like a Pygmy cross. White doe looks like a Saanen Nubian cross. The second doe looks like a Cou Noir colored Alpine, a very hard color pattern to find in Alpines!

I go along with Helianthus. Nice-looking goaties you've got there. And, THANK YOU for posting nice, small photos. My dial-up can't handle the big ones.

White one may have Boer. I have an all white 3/4 boer doe with long nubie looking ears.
The second I don't know, I would say nigerian.
The buck is at least part pygmy, frosted nose and ears.
cute.

The black and white doe should produce well. With the white doe, it'll depend on what else is there besides Nubian. If the other part is Saanen, she should milk really well. I would try to get a better buck, though. That guy will do nothing for milk production in his daughters.

If the black and white is nigerian, you better learn to milk with just a thumb and finger. Just from what I see, I would guess the white to have more potential. (guess maybe I am biased against nigerians, hu?! lol.) True about buck, pygym buck will freshen your does, but not give you kids with milker potential.

Alpines come in that color pattern, it's just sort of rare. Is that goat (the black and white one) a normal size, about the same height as the white one?

I guess I think nigerian for the second doe based on body size to leg length. Her legs look short for the fullness of her body. Alpine will likely have a more broad face than an nigerian, in addition to being usually double the height, lol.
Also, check the teats on the white doe. The occurance of more than two teats is more common in boer goats.

I guess I thought the picture was taken from overhead, foreshortening her. Perspective or funny camera angles can do that. What makes me think you could be right, though, is her height relative to the number of squares in the fence. It would really help if she were photographed next to something like a 5 gallon bucket, straight on from the side.
The other doe is certainly fleshy enough to be part Boer. I can't even see her teats in that pic! Are you able to see them larger than they're displayed?
edited to add: I changed my mind about the white doe. I do think she is part Saanen, because her nose is fairly straight. Seems like Nubian/Boer would have a m ore Roman nose. And, her thighs aren't that fleshy, just her belly is big...probably full of food.

The white doe could be a Kiko or Kiko mix.

The buck could be Nigerian and/or Pygmy. He looks Nigerian in body type, but it can be hard to tell mixed breeds or poor representations of purebreds apart.
Frosted nose/ears are NOT valid differentiations between these two breeds. Both have them.

Adding bigger photos for close look
I thought I would add a few bigger closer up shots of the goats. Maybe can tell better what breed an teats any good. Sorry these photos take longer to load but made them bigger long with closer up shots, The first doe is around 2 an already has already had babies but the second doe has never kidded she would be a first timer. The first doe looks breed to us an hopefully the second one too.
Here she is standing still.
Was trying to get a good photo of the teats to show you all how they look.
Relaxing on a HOT Day
The white doe. She has never kidded at all. We are hopeing she is breed...
Hopeing she breed.

Two good teats on each it looks like.
I'd say they were right and there is Nigie or Pygmy in the first doe.
I'd bet there is Boer in that second doe. The bones, the hair.....even the teats and butt say Boer to me.

Yep, agree that the black and white is not an Alpine, unless she's one of the mini alpines I've heard about.
