Expecting?? I think so....

When I bought my goats beginning of March the guy told me he thought Daisy might be bred. I have been watching and feeling her.

She is filling out her tummy just in front of her udder, it is very tight and getting bigger. Last night while feeling her tummy in the same area and to the right I felt what i thought was a kick. Before this all I could feel was a rolling wave.

I am very excited as this will be my first kidding ever (if I am right) She has a small udder but she never really shrunk back when she dried up after losing her first kid in the winter (before I bought her)

What else could I look for to confirm she is expecting?

If you're feeling "elbows" (that's what I call them, it feels like little elbows poking out ) then she's probably less than six weeks away from kidding. Her belly dropping in front of her udder is another good sign.

Take a look at her vulva - does it look swollen/puffy? If you're not sure, look at another goat that you know isn't bred for comparison. I had one goat that I didn't think was bred, except for that puffiness, which made me keep checking and checking - she was bred.

I feel under the belly right in front of the udder for movement but it often cant be felt till very close to the end of the pregnancy.

Best way to tell is time!

Normal I either feel nothing or a slight rolling that could have been rumen movement.. Last night it was a definite "bump" very fast and only once. Felt like a baby kick....

Hubby got a good laugh tonight while I was lookiing at goat privates lol Hmmmm lets see, Fawn is all wrinkly and shriveled up looking, Libby looked a little wet and slightly puffy/swollen and Daisy was not puffy/swollen but she is not wrinkly and shriveled up either.

If I remember I will take a pic of her and compare it to one I took when I first got her.
