Nasely Buckling

I have a Dec. born Nubian buckling who is sounding nasely. Not the usual I got hay or dust in my nose. He's up to date with CDT, worming and on sweetlix minerals.

No temp on him yet since it was wet and he's in my back field away from the barn and stand where I can secure him. I have VetRx and Nuflor.

No green discharge. I could hear it clearly when he got up from laying down. We have had a damp spring, but he has a dry shelter.

TIA.

My question is should I try the VetRx or go straight for the NuFlor? While I have both I haven't a need to use them yet. Rap wood.

Is his appetite good?? Is he alert, bright-eyed and perky?
If he is "off", I would probably go ahead and treat him with this odd weather we are having. If he is acting fine, you could try the vetrx and see if it will clear his sinuses up. A sniffle is no big deal, but if appetite is lagging, etc. its time to start worrying.

I agree, if he seems good otherwise I would just try the vet RX to see if that helps. I don't like to give antibiotics if they aren't running a fever or sure they have an infection. I just don't think it's good to give them antibiotics if I don't need to.
I do have a doe that has allergies, I give her dimetapp for allergies. It helps some too.

Nope, he' acts like a regular young buck. I can hear it when I pick him up... I wish I could tape record it.

Well, if he is acting fine, he probably just has a sniffle from the warm days/cold nights we are still having. Usually if they are acting fine but with some snots, I just squeegee their nose out in the mornings with my hand and watch them closely. Pretty much always clears up in a day or three. If their appetite ever lags or they act slow, then its time to consider pnuemonia.
