Best news ever!!!!
OK everyone, you have been in on this from the beginning so I wanted to tell you all----------- I GOT THE MORITORIUM!!!!!!!!
What this means is that I am no longer in foreclosure and I get another 5 months to get my crap together and not have to make a mortgage payment. In October, Farmers Home Adm. will evaluate my situation again and decide if I should have another extension or if I should start paying. What an awesome answer to prayer. NOW.......
I need everyones opinion on what to do with the money you all sent me. I don't consider it mine and so I will pose the possible uses for it and I want you all to decide how it is to be used. The majority will "win" so to speak and I will honor whatever is the most popular response. OK?
1) Use the entire amount given and put it toward the back mortgage so that when the payments start again my new payment won't be too much higher.
2) Use the entire amount to pay off the majority of my debts, no credit card debt-thank God. I mean my electric bill, my hay bill, my grain bill, and to a couple of friends who were helpful to me.
3) Use part for my mortgage and part for the debts.
And, if possible, I would like to use a small portion to finish registering my goats and possibly get a linear appraisal done, if it is not too late to sign up. I really need to get some good info on my animals so that people will know what I have and the quality of what I have. I would like to show, but you have to have registered animals and I just haven't been able to validate spending any money on "luxury" stuff when I am struggling to feed them and keep my home. Believe me, my goats aren't lacking for anything. But I don't have any name for myself. But it is a "luxury" and they don't know if they are registered or not, so it's ok with me if you don't think that is a wise use for the money.
You all are so amazing and I am so incredibly grateful and humbled by your outpouring of love and help to me. Thank you all and I wish I had the words to really tell you how deeply you all have touched me. You are all very special people and I am a better person for having gotten to know you.

Lynn...your post made my cry! What wonderful news for you (and your goats ). The money and gifts sent to you were for you to use how you see fit, so please don't think you have to seek approval . But since you asked...I would go with option number 3 and leave a little of the money to use for registering and appraisals.
I'm so happy for you!

That's good news! I'm glad for you.
Wait till next yr. to get LA done- recovery time for you is more important at this point. And you have lot's of time to finish registering as well-

I also would go for #3 but like Jillie63 said we all wanted to help & it is for you to decide what's best.
I would probly hold off on the linear apprasial & registering of the goats right now & get well & catch up everything else first. There are alot of folks that will buy unregistered goats.
I am so happy for you too! This is just what we were all wanting, for you to be able to keep your home & now you can get caught up! God really does answer prayers if there's enough people asking looks like.

This is awesome!!! I am so happy to hear this! What a huge sigh of relief...WHEW!
If it were me, I would do #2 and if I had anything left I would pay it towards the mortgage. It's most important to keep yourself and your critters healthy and happy. Oh, and I would give all the goats and dogs a treat and give them all a nice long grooming session with an undercoat rake (my goats love that!)
I'm so glad things are REALLY getting better!

Pay off what is giving you the most stress. Definitely pay off your electric bill so they will stop threatning to turn it off.

I vote for option no 2 as well This way you will have less to worry in the next five months! Good luck and as indicated before... this was a gift to you, to help you get back on your feet!

I think any of your options are solid. I am so happy for you and convinced the power of prayer has shone through. We all rejoice with you!

Great news! I would think number 2 or 3 would be the best choice. With all you have going on I would concentrate on getting on top of things and just keeping your goats fed and cared for, wait until next year to do linear appraisal, registration and showing. If you sell any you can send the paperwork with the buyer to fill out. If you REALLY want to do a show, maybe just get one or two registered so you can show them (don't need LA to show).
Oh, and I know this isn't on there but I would start a small garden if you don't already have one! Something that might bring you relaxation and also give you fresh veggies! Small being key word so you don't pile up too much more work on yourself!

So glad to read about the moratorium! That's great!
As noted, you are certainly not accountable to us, but it is very thoughtful of you to ask for input.
And since you asked, I'd probably go with #2, with the caveat that you set aside a bit of money as an emergency slush fund.
Now you be sure to take care of YOU. Build up your energy reserves so that you'll be healthy in body and mind.

I do thank you all for your input and your kind words. You all are responsible for my good fortune and so I think you should be a part of how things are to be done. I think the consensus is going toward #2 but I will keep checking in to see what people are saying.
I also should have given the suggestion of returning any monies that people sent since it was supposed to be for my mortgage and I have written down what each person sent and kept a record so that I can keep the thank you notes accurate. I am trying to finish a little gift for everyone before I mail any out so that they all arrive at about the same time. I am not being lazy just want all to be received at the same time.

I don't know the whole story here, but it absolutely warms my heart to see people helping their fellow man. Congratulations on the good turn of events! May you have all the best.

I'm not a frequenter of this board, so I don't know this history around this, but wasnt to say how awesome it sounds. Several years ago, members of a forum we were on really helped us out when we got into trouble, financially. It wasn't quite as much money as this seems like, but it was enough to help us. And, a few years later, we were thankfully able to "pay it forward." We still try to keep it going when we can.

Sweetie, you don't have to keep checking in, and you don't have to return any money.
You just take care of yourself, set some money aside for a rainy day (because the rainy day ALWAYS comes -- as you well know!)
And no one thinks you're lazy, or even expects anything in return. Except, of course, that you pay it forward when you're able.
Now quit fretting and go take a bubble bath!
