Thumbs up 4 Grand Champions (1 BOB & BUOB) + 1 Reserve Champion wins!

WOOHOO! We had a ball at this show! I have to hand it to the Alaska Dairy Goat Association as I did not think they could pull this off on such short notice. Great job, guys!

And now to brag about my specific wins:
> Class 6 Milkers under 24 months
> 1U SilverAurora TH Xtreme Grace - FIRST-FRESHENER
> ADGA Reg. #D1420052 DOB 7-18-07
> Jobi Cloud *S +*B x Jobi Plum 3*D 3*M
> Owned/shown by: H. Fair

Placing 1 out of 4. This is a FIRST-FRESHENER. She posted 4.1# on her first DHI test at 3 weeks fresh, another 4.7# on her second DHI test at 7 weeks fresh, and is now just past 8 weeks fresh for this show.

> Class 7 Milkers 2 years to under 3 years
> 1 SilverAurora TH Xbean - FORST-FRESHENER
> ADGA Reg. #D1417864 DOB 5-08-07
> Jobi LA Thunder x SilverAurora JC Vanilla Bean
> Owned/shown by H. Fair

Placing 1 out of 6. This is a FIRST-FRESHENER. She posted 3.8# on her first DHI test at 3 weeks fresh and is now just past 4 weeks fresh for this show.

> 2 SilverAurora CC-Xpress
> ADGA Reg. #D1414906 DOB 1-27-07
> AGS MCH Sandy Hollow UK Chesire Cat *S *B x Gay-Mor-Mic's Poison Locket
> Owned/shown by K. Brouillet

This doe is by my buck but this breeding was done by Suzanne Nevada at SilverAurora before he came to me. "Mehe" as she is called in the barn, has a littermate, "Ellie" who placed fourth in this same class.

> 4 SilverAurora CC Xcella
> ADGA Reg. #D1415725 DOB 1-27-07
> AGS MCH Sandy Hollow UK Chesire Cat *S *B x Gay-Mor-Mic's Poison Locket
> Owned/shown by L.Manary

This doe is by my buck but this breeding was done by Suzanne Nevada at SilverAurora before he came to me. "Ellile" as she is called in the barn, has a littermate, "Mehe" who placed second in this same class.

> Class 8 Milkers 3 years to under 5 years
> 6 SilverAurora JC Whispersweetly
> ADGA Reg. #D1383808 DOB 2/10/06
> Jobi Cloud *S +*B x QSF DTI Faith *D 1*M
> Owned/shown by H.Fair

Placing 6 out of 7. This doe recently milked 5.2# on DHI test!

> Senior Champion: SilverAurora TH Xbean owned/shown by H. Fair
> Reserve Senior Champion: SilverAurora CC-Xpress owned/shown by K. Brouillet

> Best Udder of Breed: SilverAurora TH Xbean owned/shown by H. Fair

BIG wins for SilverAurora, My Kids Farm (K. Brouillet), and us!!! I believe this is Beanie's second leg after she took a few reserves last year and then a Best Jr. Doe in Show (ADGA, Considine, 66 entries, Alaska State Fair in Palmer). Beanie is just 4 weeks fresh with twin bucklings and it is nice to have some confirmation of my belief that she wasn't just a junior flash in the pan!!

> Class 1 Does under 3 months were all my kids. The new owners had a ball showing three of the girls (I hope). Sorry they aren't walking well yet, but if they follow in their herd-mates' footsteps, they should grow out of that and come into their own.

> Class 2 Does 3 months to under 6 months is a wonderful little doe I purchased from my good friend, Laura Manary at Boreas Acres. Can't wait to see her mature!

> Class 4 Does 9 months to under 12 months
> 1 SilverAurora XR Yipsy
> ADGA Reg. #D1457411P DOB 6-4-08
> DD Tiny Toes MB Xaver x SilverAurora SB Walentine 3*D 3*M
> Owned/Shown by H. Fair

Placing 1 out of 3. Walentine is now owned by L. Manary at Boreas Acres.

> 3 Fair Skies XK Yantarni
> ADGA Reg. #D1447955 DOB 6-9-08
> SilverAurora TH Xenya *S x SilverAurora SB WaitingForMe 2*D 2*M
> Owned/Shown by H.

Placing 3 out of 3.

> Class 5 Does under 24 months dry
> 1 SilverAurora XR Yakutat
> ADGA Reg. #D1438185 DOB 2-4-08
> DD Tiny Toes MB Xaver x Desertnanny Tequila Sunrise
> Owned/shown by H.Fair

Placing 1 out of 6. I also now own her dam.

> 5 Fair Skies CC Your'reGonnaLuvMe
> ADGA Reg. #D1446281 DOB 5-23-08
> AGS MCH Sandy Hollow UK Chesire Cat *S *B x Sandy Hollow SS Butterscotch 3*M 2*D
> Owned/shown by H. Fair

Placing 5 out of 6.

> Junior Champion: SilverAurora XR Yipsy owned/shown by H. Fair
> Reserve Junior Champion: SilverAurora XR Yakutat owned/shown by H. Fair

WOOHOO!!!! More great news for SilverAurora and us! Both these girls were a little slower to mature but I knew they had winning in them and tried hard to wait patiently for them to blossum. I am really very pleased with both of these girls but will be even happier when they go on to become senior does later this year!

> Nigerian Bucks
> Class B18 Bucks Under 6 months - two of my little ones from a kidding of quads.

>
> 4 Piddlin Acres W Bjorn D1412808 2/20/07 MI Sugarcreek NT Sil's Winston x Piddlin Acres Fraulin K. Brouillet
>
> 5 SilverAurora TH Xenya *S
> ADGA Reg. #D1429575P DOB 6-8-07
> Jobi LA Thunder x Sandy Hollow SS Butterscotch 3*D 3*M

Placing 5 of 5.

> Class B22 Bucks 3 years to under 4 years - one of my boys from SilverAurora.

> Class B23 Bucks 4 years and over
> 1 MCH AGS Sandy Hollow UK Chesire Cat *S *B

> Rosasharn's TL Ukulele Ke'a +*S+*B x Piddlin Acres Charity 2*D 1*M
> Owned/shown by H.Fair

Placing 1 of 2. This is another boy I purchased from SilverAurora. He is one ADGA win away from solidifying his dual championship.

> Champion Nigerian Buck: SilverAurora SB Yowza *S *B
> Reserve Nigerian Buck: SilverAurora SB Xtraroo

WOOHOO! And yet even more good news for SilverAurora and us! Yowza is an amazing boy from whom I can't wait to evaluate kids. I have a set of twins by him out of SilverAurora JT Villa Nova and another by Yowza out of SilverAurora TH Xbean (see her wins above, she took Sr. Grand, Sr. Best of Breed, and Sr. Best Udder of Breed in addition to her prior Junior wins and a Best Jr. Doe in Show). If they can follow in their parents' footsteps, Yowza's bucklings out of Xbean should be some AMAZING winners!!!

That's a clean sweep of Nigerian wins for SilverAurora too!

Congratulations to all and thank you very much for bringing up Jean Lucas to judge for us. She was helpful, patient, and very informative. I enjoyed learning from her and hopefully I can take what she noted in my goats to improve in the future. She did say she thought the Nigerians were well-presented and some would be very competitive nationally. Nice! Thanks again, Jean!

THANK YOU! We are SOOO tired and SOOO sore today after all that running around! lol We showed 20 goats, as we usually do, and it was a handful but really fun. At the end of the day I had to laugh because I looked at my phone and I hadn't had any missed calls. I said, well maybe the cell service isn't working right out here (we were in a very rural area where service is spotty). My husband said, "No, you didn't have any missed calls because all your friends are HERE!" LOL

While it's nice to see we picked nice goats for our herd, we can't wait to start winning with some of our own breedings. Give us a few years to get our own babies on the ground, grown up, and freshened and if we are doing the right things, we should start seeing "Fair Skies" as the herd name on our winners. We have already had one Grand Champion ND buck in a class of over 20, but it was but one judge and although I could see what he mentioned when he said what he liked about the boy, I personally disagree with that judge and will be wethering that buck this year. So we just have to remember, one judge means very little and that is why ADGA & AGS won't count more than 2 wins from any one judge to "finish" a champion.
