Changes In My Does Milk...

Hello all. I've got a question about a change in my goat's milk.
Recently it has become off white and seems ever so slightly thicker than usual. I don't drink it at the moment since I'm pregnant and don't pasteurize it, I just have it for my children. I tasted it though and it tastes just a little "different" but nothing I can put my finger on. My children haven't said anything about it tasting different but for the past few days I've just been pouring it out because I don't know what's wrong.
I was going to buy a Cali mastitis test but I was reading up on symptoms of mastitis and Lassie doesn't really have any. Her udder is not cooler or warmer, not more swollen, not hard, she doesn't appear to be in any pain during milking, no blood clots or pinkness in the milk, and her appetite is just fine. Her milk yield seems to be the same. I don't weigh it, just eyeball it in a quart mason jar. I've recently gone from milking twice a day to just in the mornings---I've always gotten slightly less than a quart a day from her and I didn't see that being worth 2 milkings a day. I'm getting pretty much the same amount daily from just 1 milking.

I'm not really sure what to make of this. If it really were mastitis wouldn't there be other symptoms? I'd hate to treat her for something she doesn't have. Other than the color of her milk, nothing else seems to be amiss.

Any ideas?
Thanks!

How long since she freshened? Any change in feed (browse, etc.)? I had one goat whose milk smelled "grassy" in the evenings when she was on pasture, but quite normal in the mornings.

MIne have gotten a bit more yellow than white also and its to me more creamier also. I think there is more cream in it as mine dont taste off at all and my girls have been browsing alot more now with all things greening up. My girls are fine and they are giving more now than before browsing. It should be fine...what type of goat is it?? That makes a difference also.

She's a Nubian.
And yes, more browse now since spring has sprung. That's the only change I can think of. She had been on Bermuda hay, and grain. Now she's in the pasture with plenty of stuff besides grass, and only as much grain as she can eat while I'm milking her.
Maybe creamier was the taste I couldn't identify. I'm usually a skim milk gal lol It certainly wasn't salty like I've read the description of mastitis milk tastes.
But since this is my first dairy goat I'm probably just being new-mom worried.

Oh, I don't know how long ago she freshened. I bought her already in milk without her kids. I think she had them in March.

Ah, well then, if she's a Nubian . . . they are supposed to have higher butterfat than most breeds (except Nigerians), so if she's on good browse, that's probably it.

Sometimes I notice the cream I skim off has almost a nutty flavour to it - very nice, not nasty.

I don't think you need to worry about anything.
