Dairy Goat show in Ga 5-30

Just thought my fellow Georgians would like to know there is a dairy goat show at the Monroe Ga Ag. Center. These shows are not the largest but are pretty good size. Hope to meet some of you there.
If you need more info please feel free to ask, I dont know a whole lot about the show itself as I'm not into dairy so much but Ill do my best..

Go to the Georgia Dairy Goat Breeders Association website and click on shows for more information about this show. It should be a lot of fun. Let me know if you have Saanens that you might bring. I am responsible for making sure Saanens are official.

I look forward to seeing you. We can't come until Sat. AM.

This will be the first participating show. I AM EXCITED. I'll be with two FFA kids and they'll show their kids.

Do breeders bring stock that they wish to sell on this weekend? :baby04:

I am looking for another LaMancha doeling to breed in Dec or Jan. Wondering if I could get an affordable deal at a show. I plan to let Ruben have his way with Suzie in Sep/Oct and want to offset with another doe to kid some months later.

I do not know about the dairy shows but you can almost always find kids for sale at the boer shows and with dairy, most have to bring kids that they feed, so I can imagine it wouldnt be out of the question.
Paul, if you will find me first you can use the pens my goats where in as maybe it would be a bit more of a comfort knowing that the goats that where in the pens before where at least healthy, if they are still for rent Ill hold them for you. You do have to have a health cert. for each goat you bring on the property, I dont know if you where aware of that, its also a small comfort as at least no leasions, scours, hoof rott or sour mouth can be present.
I will be there from 8 that morning

Thanks Cannon-Farms. I'll see you around 8. Does your TSC have a tattoo kit? I've gotta tattoo the Saanen buckling.

Our vet gave us a health cert today on all three that we plan to show. As well, I reserved a pen earlier today; so I'll see you as early as possible.

I use the plural 'we' very loosely on my HT posts. That would be me and my neighbors, the real goat owners will do the showing. They live next door and don't mind my meddling into their goat buz. They have Saanen and ND. "WE'LL" have ND babies in Aug and Sept. hehehe

I dont know much about setting a dairy goat, but with my show experence if you need a extra handler Id be glad to help.
I just had a nice Alpine/boer doeling born and that will probably be the extent of my dairy in my herd as Im selling my Alpine/nd cross, i used to think the lamanchas looked horrid but I have to admit they are growing on me so maybe.....
We have a couple different number kits, i dont know if we have letters as i have just went with tags so far, only because some one is evil for me and does it for no charge. If you can get me a sku off the website, Ill bring you one at my cost which is 15% off.
I have friends that will be showing Saanens and some that will be showing Nubians, mainly Im going to fill my freezer full of milk and well, I get paid to hang out with goat people all day so it doesnt get much better. Ill have free hats (they kinda suck this time) and cupons and who knows what else.

If anyone else needs anything please feel free to ask, I can bring quality hay with me if it would be easy for you. 40lbs of Boss here is 16.99
