J Feeders for mineral?

I gave the boys plastic pails screwed to the wall last night for their minerals. This morning the buckets were down and distroyed.... boys will be boys....
Do you think metal J feeders that a rabbit eats out of would work? I'm thinking that a goats mouth is narrow enough, the opening is about 2" and I have bunch of the feeders I'm not using. I could screw those to the walls with some heavy duty screws.

I think the copper might eat through the metal.

I built a strong wooden shelf with a board on the front to hold a small plastic tray for minerals.
