Talking Suzie adopted a bottle baby!!!

Wow. A young neighbor was given a FB beautiful, two-day-old Saanen bottle boy two weeks ago.

Suzie my LaMancha FF had a buckling on 3/16 who I sold on 4/4 as a bottle baby to live with and love a human kid. At her peak she was giving almost a gallon a day as I milked her morning and evening.

WELL, When Tesoro, the Saanen arrived, we bottled him for a couple of days – four times a day. Lots of effort so I decided to just put him on the stand to drink it directly. I thought Suzie had no idea that it was him drinking instead of me milking because her head is in the guillotine and she can’t see behind her. She didn’t flinch at all.

The very next day she yelled when she saw me bringing him to her milk stand. A day or so later I realized that she’d yell when he’d talk to me. I’d yell “Treasure” and he’d answer – then she’d call to his call.

So after a few days I decided to see if she’d let him nurse. She would but only when he approached from behind. (as he had always done on the milkstandk) She would stop and let him eat. She’d butt him away when he approached from the side.

However, she’d yell at me when I’d take him away, following the fenceline and screaming like a Nubian. One day last week when I brought him to her she nuzzled him, talked to him and was glad to see him. He stays with her full-time now eating and snacking whenever he wants. They are a beautiful sight!

The only problem is that he drinks all of her milk. The little pig :1pig: doesn’t leave any for me…. But it is worth it to watch them.
