banding gone bad..

I have never seen this happen before and am not sure what to do. We banded a bucking a little while ago. I am not sure if he snagged it or what but when the sack came off it pulled the tube out of his body. The tube is dry and swollen and has sealed itself off but the area will not heal because the tube is hanging out. Has anyone ever had this happen and if so what did you do? Should I reband the tube, cut it off or just leave it alone??? He is headed for the freezer and does not seem bothered by it, no temp either but all kinds of worries keep running through my head.... any ideas. Thanks

Oh My Gosh, I have never even heard of anything like that happening to a little guy before. It sounds terrible. I don't have any advice but will be glad to see what others have to say about it though. I would worry about infection I think.
Can you poke the tube back in side so it will heal up or is the hole probly already healed that way?

No idea over here either. I would recommend spraying alcohol/disinfectant to the affected area... kind of sound like his urinary track came thru... If he is a freezer goat, and can perform his pee/poop functions ok. Just make sure he does not get infected. Good luck!

He can pee just fine, I think I could have poked it back in if I would have noticed it right away, but it is dry now and crusty and I worry about infection too, it's been out so long and exposed to so much I wouldn't dare put it back up in there now. It has to be the tube that went from scrotum as it just hangs there and doesn't connect back up anywhere. That little stinker.... I have castrated my fair share of animals and this is a first. Oh well, maybe we will all learn something from it. I am going to put iodine on it ~he's going to hate me.....

Same thing happened to one of my nubian wethers. We did snip it off..and held it pinched between fingers for a minute or so.. It bled a drop or two.. Put Iodine on it and it healed nicely.
