Sold Some Of My Goats This AM

Had a women come this morning and bought 7 of our goats. the goats I sold we mostly kids, buck and one milking doe that refused to behave for me on the milking stand. With all my years experience with goats I was just not in the mood to deal with her anymore soo..off she went too. The women who came has a 225 acre old dairy farm and lets goats "free range" with her care and sells them as she adverises them and word of mouth. I probably will go up later this year and get a new buck for my girls..too much inbreeding the last few years also. So..I'm glad I didn't have to sell them at the auction..hope they will be OK..but the money I made today will just pay for having the vet and the "back hoe" guy come out on Wednesday to put our horse down, sad situation there.. So ...now I can concentrate on the few does I have and that might be just as well. Too many animals of any kind and I, at least, find it's hard to care for them all properly. With the cost of hay and feed I really do only need in animal production what we can really use on the farmstead for our own use. I guess I just want to make every animal an in-door pet.

Congratulations on the sales! I find it so hard to let some go, yet I look forward to others being sold or being processed! LOL!

It sounds like you are going through a lot I'm sure it was hard to see them go. But you know what is best and aiming for that so you will be happier in the long run

Have been down with the flu ??..oink, oink..this weekend and didn't have the strength to put them on the truck..which was probably better for me anyways. Hubby been taking care of barn chores so tonight was the first night I came into the barn..quiet....I wonder if my does are asking me .."where did all our friends go..why not me too"..I know I get dramatic at times..the city girl in me I know that.. I always say life is harder for animals and children..Oh, well..life and chores go on..
