Beanie FINALLY delivered!

After a whopping 161.5 days of gestation, SilverAurora TH Xbean finally delivered an adorable matched pair of gold and white bucklings late last night. First boy was 4.4 pounds, second was 4.1 pounds. Sire is SilverAurora SB Yowza *S *B. Although very correct and quite eye-catching, the boys will most likely be available as wethers.

This girl sure kept us waiting and we were scratching our heads trying to figure out what was keeping her since she hasn't even been in visual contact with a buck since November 18, 2008, let alone in physical contact! This places her more than two weeks late from the expected delivery date at 145 days. In any event, we're glad the wait is over! Now we can enjoy her beautiful udder with strong medial; buttery soft texture; large, milkable teats; and ample orifices. I milked out the excess colostrum after the kids had eaten a few meals and it was a dream! And it's nice to see the hormones have mellowed her out too as she stood quietly for me while I milked her in the kidding stall.

Last year Beanie took Grand Champion Jr. Nigerian Dwarf Doe and Best Junior Doe in Show over about 66 entries in Daniel Considine's ADGA ring at the Alaska State Fair in Palmer. With her first-freshening now under her belt, this doe is going to be one to watch this year and we are very excited to enter her in the show ring again and take her to ADGA Linear Appraisal. Too bad she's not freshened enough times to also participate in AGS Classification. She'll have her first DHI milk test very soon.

I'm including a few shots taken last night and this morning.

This is the older of the two and he is quite vocal:

But this little one *is* a little screecher (he's actually yawning here, though):

Hahahaha, cute names, guys!

Beanie is a surprisingly good mom. She was a typical nutso junior prior to freshening and now she's calmed WAY down.

Heather,
They are adorable. I am glad the freshening has mellowed her out. We have one more doe to go, each day her udder grows in size but her attitude has alot to be desired I certainly hope hormones mellow her out too!

Beanie looks like such a good mama and I love the yelling and yawning one....so cute I just want to hug them.

Oh it's too late for that! We have already had a dozen other kids born here in late March! These were SUPPOSED to be born at the same time but somehow this girl just hung on!

With all the folks that want to come visit, the upcoming shows, the planning for the events (I'm an officer in one club and a member of the other), etc., I definitely have a full schedule this summer! Two days ago the new ones had their first day out with everyone. They had a BALL! I couldn't believe their stamina. They played for a solid 2.5 hours with the bigger kids and moms running around and did just great!
