A Huge Thank You-Raisins!

I forgot who told me about raisins in trying to tame my timid doeling. I finally got a gorgeous day, feel good, and decided to go out and play with the goats. Took a box of raisins, and I'll be darned if she didn't start allowing me to touch her while she was eating them. I am going very very slowly so as not to spook her. Thank you so much for the tip! The only problem comes when I drop them, I have to leave them because I'm not really sure what I am picking up, lol.

Great idea. Wonder if this might work on older goats? Baby doe Daisy is tame as can be, along with mom, but Billy the Kid is as hard to catch as you can imagine. Wonder if this might work, so I can do simple maintenance on him? Off to the store tomorrow. Thanks for the hint.

I am the worst mommy ever, lol. My DD wanted raisins for a snack last night, and I had to go make sure I had enough boxes to give the goats some more today if she had a box. Now I know she didn't finish the box, so I am off to find it.

It was just too much fun, lol. And I am sooooo excited about actually getting to sort of pet the skittish one!!! Funny, I took a friend down last night and Frosty refused to even take raisins from her hand, so I must have the Caretaker advantage.

Kreddish my oldest is a little over a year, and while he certainly isn't shy, he did love the raisins as well. A little too much, I have hoof prints on my ribcage.

Now you'll have to try them on some other treats like seedless grapes, cut up apple, mine Love animal crackers, oranges, even cantalope & watermelon too.
