"Like Milking Pencils"

Just a light-hearted discourse on udder and teat configurations -

My friend milks a doe who has long, thin teats. She says that milking this goat is "like milking pencils". I had a doe who was like trying to milk pimples on a balloon. (She's been relegated to producing meat kids; no longer on the milkstand.)

Do you have any fun/funny comparisons to share?

I've always said that milking Nigerians is like milking snakes - hard to find their tiny little udders. (Lemony Snickets - Jim Cary)

pookshollow - you need to milk some better dairy quality Nigerians! Mine have very nice teats. Even the FF with little ones is improving and I can use my whole hand on all of them, even her.

I milked one one that was like the pimples on a balloon analogy - NO THANKS!

I don't know but the pimples on a balloon thingy is hilarious. I have done a few of those too and it is a perfect description!

My first milk goat has pencil teats. They are 3 fingered ones. Last year was our first year to milk and I didn't think much about it. Then we got some REAL milk goats this year and theirs are nice.
We have a first freshner this year as well and she was, at first, like milking the pimples on the ballon. LOL. That is so funny.
We had an Udderly EZ Milker that we use on her. We can now get two fingers on her and milk after we lossen them with the milker. We are hoping it will be better next year.

Thanks for the laugh.

I rescued a goat six years ago at auction that had horrible mastitis. My Mom said she was like trying to milk an elephant teat with a pin hole. Poor girl!
