added to herd more goats

Ok my name says I love la monchas..and i do,.., what could be cuter then a no eared goat? These eared goats are pretty cute too:>)
But now I have some questions cuz I have added a 7 week old nubian cross maybe soon to be weathered? an 8 week old saanen doeling and a bred yearling alpine...

I want to vaccinate..Lady said the bred doe was vaccinated but I don't know that i trust that she is. can i vaccinate if she's 3-5 weeks fron due? Don't even now her due date so thats a guess.
how bout the babies. ? They have had nothing. I have bar vac 7 here. It says to use all when opened..do you have to?
I can just pick up individual doses for the babies at vet. What do you think?
Also guy at feed store thought 7 and 8 weeks is too little to be weaned. Should I worry? They eat but not much..should I try and bottle feed them? They are wild butts.
Do I need to worry about selenium?I have loose minerals as well as a mineralized goat block. They get browse during the day and free choice minerals and baking soda, as well as hay all night and I am feeding a cow feed mixed with 10percent sweet feed twice a day.
now that I have these younguns and babies onthe way....help

Maybe I ned to reword this to get a response?
3 new goats
One alpine X tearling bred to kid in 3-6 weeks. Wondering if I revaccinate her..old owner said she was vaccinated but I am not sure and would like ot vaccinate
nubianx buckling 7 weeks old
saanen xdoeling 8 weeks old believe neither is vaccinated.
will clostridium chauvoel septicum noyl-sordellii perfringens types c and d bacterin toxoid bar vac *7 marketed for cattle and sheep
I got from the feed store at there urging BUT they are NOT goat experts.
I am in a selenium deficit area. I have goat minerals..and a goat block..free choice BS and feed a grain and cow feed mix 2 times a day..along with browse and "oat" hay. What more can I do? I need to be ready for babies soon and want to take correct care of the youngones I now have. thanks

The only vaccine I do here is CD & T & that should be given to the doe 3 weeks before delivery. I would also give it to the kids but see if someone else post's too, I don't think if they have had it that it will hurt them.
Any feed changes remember to do very slowly as to not upset any of there stomachs.
I dam raise my kids here & they don't usually wean them at 7 weeks so I don't let them go to there new homes till about 9 weeks so I can make sure & do the cocci prevention before they go to. So as far as weaning the young one's, that's your call since you know how & what they eat & can handle.
Hopefully someone else that has more knowlege in the vaccines you were talking about will jump in to.
And make sure you loose mineral is high in copper content, at least 2000 ppm's(cattle mineral works if you can't find good goat one). The blocks are too hard on there teeth & don't have enough in them.
Good Luck & congratulations!

thankyou backforty. I think I will just go get the right cdand t and vaccinate away. There is such a contrast betwen these 3 and my last 5 goats. These guys are pretty wild.I changed the name of the spotted nubian buckling from bambi( he looks just like a spotted baby deer) to chops..cuz if he dont tame down he will be my first homesteading butcher.
thanks again lori

If they were vaccinated already, it won't hurt them to have it again, besides, they would need a booster anyway. Do it again in a couple weeks. Some people do CD&T several times a year, I do it annually for the guys that stay at home. The ones I take to the fair get vaccinated a week before fair as well. The does are vaccinated about 2 weeks before kidding also.

You said you live in a selenium deficient area. You can give BoSe shots the same time that you give CDT, to prevent white muscle disease. Or, you can find a salt/mineral mis that is high in selenium.

I give the shots, cause I couldnt find a mix that was high.

I can't offer any advice, still being relatively new to the goat world, but I do know one thing...

YOU, my friend, have violated the sacred rule of picture posting. You have had these guys for several days, with no pictures? You shall be tied up and pelted with goat poo.

I do not use the 7 way, just the regular CD and T. Make sure it says Toxiod, since the Anti-toxin is for bloat/entero. Your feed store might have it for goats and sheep. I vaccinate them at 8 weeks and then give a booster 21-28 days later. Then I do it yearly. As far as the bred doe a month before kidding you can give her CD&T and Bo-Se.
If you are going to keep him as a buckling soon you will need to separate him from the girls, he can be ready to breed s soon as next week. If you do wether him he needs very little if any grain. Try animal crackers and just sit in there calm and toss them a few and I am sure they will tame soon enough. They are in a strange place, forced to be weaned and I am sure they are scared. I personally like to wean at 3 and a half months old. Some do it longer or shorter. Bottling if you have the time will also help to tame them down.

My son recently saw a LaMancha and he wants me to buy one he said she was very cute and sweet. I worry they will have ear envy when they see my Nubians and bite their ears, lol.

Oh well.. baby fever does odd things to you.I have gotten the lil doeiling a litle tamer..the buckling is a wild boy still. I really need to figure out what o do with him. Thanks for the advice. Bo se is prescription? i need to start geting ready in case the doe has her babies soon. Hard to know when no breeding date,

Since I'm not real experienced with goats, this is just a guess. I had 2 week old puppies that had something that looked just like that. The vet said it was a fungus, and had me make a solution of water and pine-sol. He said mix it like you would to clean. I wet the puppies with this [only where the problem was] used a scrub brush and most came off the first time. I did this everyday until it cleared up, but only took a few days. Don't know if this will work, or even if it's the same thing. Maybe someone else will know right off what it is and what to do.

It could be mites. I use DE on the goats and in the bedding this time of year for that.
