Talking My Goat-Loving Toddler

We took our daughters (3 years old and 2 years old) to the zoo. They have a petting zoo area as well. My daughters, of course, don't want to leave the goat petting pen. My two-year old would pet them and say, "Hi, goat!" My three-year old had to let me know that they goats didn't want her to leave because they were friends.

Then we go to some of the separated goat pens. The Nubian they have just recently had 3 kids. My 3 year old watched her intently for a while, then looked at me and said, "I think we need to take her babies home."

Apparently, goat-loving can be genetic.

I wanted too, boy did I want to bring them home. Unfortunately, I guess they frown upon stealing zoo animals. Which I think should just be considered a "compassionate relocation."

Yup, I see a goat pen in your future! My little one loves to chase them around, she thinks it's hysterical. The goats don't seem to be quite as amused, lol.

I ahve been previewing goat births on youtube this morning to set up a list for hubbie to watch. ( he may be MIDHUSBAND to one of our does when I have back surgery) and my 2 and 5 year olds heard one of the videos came running and set watching goat births for 45 minutes ( but at least it served a purpose our science work for the day), until I finally made them go to the playroom. My kids would rather be out in the goat pens playing with the girls then playing in their playroom anyday day.

Only six? What's taking you so long? I started out with two, four years ago this May and I now have, ummm, thirty-eight!
