Can I justify keeping her
I have a 10 new baby goats. All out of FF. I was not planning on keeping any of them. There are 8 does and 2 bucks. One of the does is possibly the prettiest little goat I have ever seen. Are looks enough to justify keeping her?
I will try to post pics soon.

I don't need any pictures- the answer is "yes." I have one goat whose only purpose in life is to make me laugh. I need that as well as anything else.

Follow your heart, it will lead the way. Follow your camera, it will make us happy.

a pretty little goat will always be easier to rehome than an average one, just in case you'd change your mind later. so YES!

You never need justification to keep a goat IMO
I'm in the same boat you are...planned to sell all of them this year since I kept all 4 of last years...but my little bottle baby has stolen my heart and there's no way she's leaving here LOL

I do tend to want to keep the pretty doelings, but I also need to consider other factors. I raise dairy goats and am striving for show quality animals and milk. I will keep doelings out of dams, even FF's if they have a correct udder and/or make lots of milk for a FF. I can't tell you what to do, since I don't know your goal for your farm, nor the quality if the dam.

Personally if I have a choice between keeping a kid out of a nice first freshener or keeping a kid out of a proven doe I will choose the kid out of the first freshener because she represents the cutting edge of my breeding program, especially if I already have daughters of the proven doe. There is nothing wrong with keeping an especially pretty kid out of a first freshener.

Well, I'll tell ya what; I have an exceptionally pretty doeling born here this season. Her dam is a wonderful milker, and her sire was from very good milky lines. I think I'm keeping her. Um, I *know* I'm keeping her. All factors considered, but pretty to look at, too. Yes, we do need that!

Well, even if one isnt' a show-quality goat, if she makes you happy, and you arent' planning to try to show her, I'd say keep her for now.
I am trying to narrow my herd down to mainly good-quality registered goats, but I have 2 girls that are from my first herd that I love very much and are good milkers who are NOT show quality, but I will probably keep them until I get out of the goat-keeping biz.

Waiting for DD to wake up to get pics.
On her mother's side there is great milkers and same with fathers side. That was the reason i kept her mom. I just hate to keep FF kids without knowing how the Ff will milk.

An ice cube works great.
We've been around our goats long enough that they have taught us NOT TO WAIT!!! We want pictures. AND now...
If I had four feet they would be stomping right now...
Hurry up, DD!!!!

Is there an urgency to sell her NOW? What about waiting six months to see how her mom milks?

She looks like a keeper-- and she would def. be easy to sell if it turned out her mom wasn't a great milker Gorgeous!
