Talking The cherubs have landed

Finally! Angel had her kids tonight, with our first ever set of triplets. :banana02: Two bucklings and a doeling. They're by a Boer buck, so loooong floppy ears. She popped them out one after the other, all came out nose first, no problems.

I promise I will post pictures, when they're dry.

So, no more waiting for Godot - until May.

The Saanen doeling was snuggled up with Angel's doeling when I went in this morning - so I think you're right!

The smallest buckling was looking hunched and squawking this morning. I thought I'd milk Angel into the baby bottle, but she didn't have any left, so he got some from the milk pail - enthusiastically received, so he was hungry. I did see him latch on last night, before I left the barn. I have some colostrum in the fridge, so when I get home from my bus run, he can have that. I'll leave him with mom, but just supplement for a bit until I see how he's making out.

Minelson, You are so funny, you gave them an hour & a half to be dry & pictures posted! Hahahaha!

They are so so cute Pookshollow. I think what that doe is trying to say is "Can't you see I'm busy & in the middle of something right now?"

This was also my first year for triplets so I am checking for little round bellies all day long. Mine will be a week old tomarrow & everyone is doing so good. That doe has always been an excellent mother & lots of milk for a little goat.
They are exciting though, I could set down there for hours with them & watch them run, jump & play!

I think she's saying "Happy Mother's Day?!!?? Whaddya mean, Happy Mother's Day?"

The littlest one is on a bottle, and doing well. I can see him going from paper-thin to plump as it goes down - goats are very expandable. Good thing the Saanen freshened on Sunday! The other two are very hefty - I should try and weigh them. Angel has always grown out big kids.

congratulation,
dam looks painfully thin. what did you feed her during last weeks of pregnancy? does she has enough milk for triplets? did you worm her after she kidded?

She's been on 2nd cut alfalfa, grain 2x a day - and she's dominant, so she was getting the lion's share. These kids were 8 days overdue, and she had just kidded in the pictures, so her muscle tone is shot. She has been dewormed regularly, last time about two weeks ago (she had loose droppings, although most probably from going on grass). She looks better today - less baggy. I have to pick up dewormer today and will do her tonight.
