How many ounces?

You've all probably seen my post about our bottle baby.

There was only one person on the thread that responded about how much a 3-4 week old ND doeling should be drinking per day. She is getting frozen goat's milk from last season, blended and heated to 110F.

The one poster said 8oz 4 times per day. She acts a little too full when we give her that amount. I think that she ate more like 24 oz yesterday - not 32.

Any feel for how much an ND bottle baby should be eating at 3-4 weeks?

mine would only drink 8-10 oz 3 times a day, I read somewhere (I can't find it now) not to feed more than 30 oz. a day.

Maybe you should feed her like 4 or 6 oz every 4 hours or 6 hours. It sound like it is too much for her since she acted like full. Dont try force her too much on milk..

I think it was me who initially suggested 6-8 oz. You then clarified with me that this is a dwarf and I suggested trying 4 oz 5-6 times a day. It sounds like you're doing just fine. There's no exact formula and, if she's acting too full, then I would be making up less next time. You're better off to feed her less more often, if your schedule allows - to simulate how they would naturally eat from a momma.
I also thought, from your initial post, that going 12 hours overnight between feedings was probably a bit much at this point. If you can get one more feeding in there, doing midnight - 8 am or 11pm - 7 am or something like that....
Got any pictures of her?

Oh, ok Hawkfam. That's very helpful.

I am feeding her around midnight, then 7am or so in the morning.

I posted pictures on my thread about her name

We have a 4 week old ND bottle baby.

We give him as much milk as he wants 3 times a day. I really think he could go to twice a day, but he is my daughter's goat, and she does not agree.

He drinks about 1/2 of a bottle then wanders off to eat hay or lie down.

I went in search of Delilah's picture - she's adorable! Does she wear a diaper in the house?

I haven't tried a diaper - does that work?

I think she would turn around and chew on it.

We took him out often enough during the day that there were no poo incidents in the house.

Yeah, it'll work. We put the diapers on backwards, cut a little slit to pull the tail through, and then slap an extra piece of duct tape across the back to help keep it on. It was totally worthwhile for us, although got a little messy as we approached week two. Time to go outside.... lol
