Hi Everybody - introducing myself

I live north of Tallahassee FL near the GA border and have been lurking here "researching" for a year or so before getting my first goats. I really enjoy all the advice and friendship you guys have for each other. I bought a Nubian FF doe in milk and a non related buckling 2 weeks ago. Lily and I are learning this whole milking thing together. So far the dirt is receiving more milk than the bucket but I am determined to get it right.

I have a young black lab mix who has made friends with the goats even though he seems to think they are funny looking foreign dogs (from France maybe) because they sure don't speak dog and when he puts his front end down on the ground and his back end up in the air in the classic "let's play" pose, the doe puts her head down and tries to butt him. So rude!

I am glad I finally took the plunge and got goats. They are friendly and funny and very entertaining. And I never thought any animal would be more entertaining than my chickens! I will post pictures of the goats once I figure out how to do that on here.

Thanks for listening! Kitty

Welcome! It's hard to find an animal with a better combination of utility & fun than goats! You'll also find a warm welcome at dairygoatinfo.com, and a great deal of useful information.
