dirigible sidekick blindside-the deuce you say!

Cora, daughter of Caramel-rest her soul-was due any day but we had no firm due date. She's been roomies with gigantosaurus Buttercup who quaded on Thursday afternoon. Anyhow, we've been checking her often but nothing encouraging. Today was a crazy busy day. Worked in my classroom all morning, brought home papers planning to grad/report cards to write AFTER cleaning house and running a 4-H rabbit meeting. Leave school, swing by and feed horses in their pasture, get home, check on Cora, NOTHING-NO GOO, JUST A HUNGRY GOAT HOLLERING FOR MORE HAY-FEED THE PIG, go inside. House a wreck, start cleaning, feed daughter, load dishwasher, add bedding aka crap to daughter's well bedded bedroom floor in effort to clear living room for meeting. yadayadayada. Not 45 minutes later my very irate daughter who just discovered all of Santa's reindeers' baggies of oats and candy sprinkles shoved in bottome drawer in kitchen (my husband will PAY for not destroying the evidence) go stomping out to the barn to sulk while I am figuring out a way to get ONE MORE good year of belief out of her (maybe Santa hid them because the reindeer were eating too much stuff at other houses?). Anyway, in tears Molly screaming that Cora's had one and is pushing out the other one! So we call the neighbor's 4-H daughter who wants to witness a goat birth before her own kids in a month, and we race out to the box stall. Cora, that stinkpot, FF extraordinnaire, kidded a big boer buckling without a sound and then lay down and one push later out came a doeling! She is a great mother and doing well. We named the doeling Carmelita in memory of her grandma Caramel. We are done until April, hallellujah! Plus all the 4-Hers who showed up soon after got to see new babies, yeah, and afterbirth-ICK! The showstopper was the labrador EATING the afterbirth which I had put in a bucket to dispose of-oh well, aint' it all about the drama. Off to finish report cards...spelling and cursive can get graded tomorrow I guess.
