Exclamation Not looking better

Candy's temp was back up to 105.3 this morning. She had her 3cc of B12, 8 cc of Penecillin G, electrolites, calcium drench, probiois and 1cc of banamine.

She will nibble on peanut hay. No grain but her fever was up then. I have a call into the vet.

Her doelings keep trying to get milk out. Have been trying a bottle.

What else can I be doing to get her fluids and food back up? I am afraid that her babies will start to go down hill if I can not get her milk up.

I'd definitely check with the vet, but in the past, I've given molasses in warm water and it seem to bring up their strength some. Do you have another do you can milk for the babies, or do you have too many babies for that?

You might want to try get different kind of antibotic. I do remember my vet told me that pen. antiboticis not always that great for other kinds of bactria.. Beuz They said something that pen. antibotic is good for few things but not other stuff. You might want to get different kind of antibotic. I would use naxcel or nuflor or whatever the vet have. They are really good.

Are you sure she dont have mastitis becuz i remember one year I had a goat was so sick like yours and wont eat much and she didnt have much milk and later on i found out she did have mastisis and i use the "TODAY" tube to use it. And she got better after that but sadly one udder dont work very well. I have learned my lesson..

I'd start supplement feeding the babes with whatever you got. It sounds like you're doing what you can. The fever will probably have to come down before she starts eating or drinking more. I hope the vet has some answers for you.

I decided that they all needy a trip outside - it is a beautiful day. How to get 6 doelings and 2 does to go where you want? You use the Doeling Taxi! Yes, all six are in there.

Candy is the doe with frosted ears. She was eating some blackberry leaves and the tall rye grass and oat leaves. When she came in she had a good drink but still would not touch the grain.

Vet still has not called me back - ugh! Her udder seems to be fine just not full - so I do not think that she has mastisis. Her discharge has turned from a pink to more of a brown. I tried to get babies to use a bottle but that did not work well - I will change nipples and try again. They were very energetic outside and they all sleep a lot. They just weigh less than my other triplets.

They all look pretty good to me. Does she have milk or do you suspect it dried up a bit with the fever? Are the babies nursing?
My ewe that went down with fever after lambing a couple of weeks wouldn't touch her grain for days and days. In fact, it was the last thing that she started eating again.

Adorable. and I'm so envious of the sunny DRY weather (and ground) you have!!

if she has a uterine infection, pennecillin g at this dose isn't helping.
1cc per ten pound long acting pennecillin (for example P48 from tsc) twice a day for at least 14 days what the vet had prescribed for the doe with c-section.
doesn't sound like you are using the right antibiotic right now.
do not wait until kids are going down hill, pull them now and start bottle feeding them.
i would never fit six kids in the bucket like yours. but looks cute

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Candy. Let us know what the vet says.

I was using the 3cc per 50 lb dosage that I had seen on here.

The vet just called and wants me to give her 3cc of Banimine and 7cc of LA200. Seems high on both. But Pennecillin he said 1cc per 30 lbs. I am going to find my LA200, check temp, give more banimine if needed. Vet says that I have to get her temp down for her to eat more.

I only put them all in the bucket because of my difficult one. She only wanted to go in the only direction that I did not want her to go.

how much does your doe weight? i would divide the banamine as it is hard for the kidneys.
please get at least the P. G Benzathine and P. G Procaine. this is the long lasting penn. dosage would be still twice a day as gat metabolism is very fast.
biomycin would be the better choice over the LA 200. doesn't hurt so much when injected.
you don't only want to get her temp down, but also get her uterus healed without scaring. she might never get bred again.

I had already got the LA200 from the vet and gave that to her. He said to continue with the Pennecillin(I have the P. G Procaine). Her fever went back up to 105 so I gave her 2cc of Banamine(3cc just seems like to much for a doe). She weighs 125 lbs.

The Banamine did help pull the fever down so that she would eat. Got one doeling to take a bottle. They are all feeling well- jumping and playing - just a little on the light side.

Can you overdose B12? I have been giving her 3cc twice a day. She does look better tonight than she did last night. Anything else?

That is funny!!! That has to be one of the cutest baby goat pics I've seen.

Nope, can't OD on B vitamins, she'll pee out what she doesn't need. I sure hope hope she gets better, she's a pretty doe.

Candy's girls are over a pound lighter than Hannah's girls but they still are feeling well.

Is there anything else that I should be giving Candy? I did pick up calcium glu...(sp) and dextrose at TS but it is for cattle and I was not sure about for Candy.

Can't overdose on B vitamins, but check if yours are fortified are the regular vitamins. Fortified has a much higher dose of B1.
