My first kid died....

Doe finally gave birth today... I saw a little doe being born... It came out backwards....never moved... It was full term, just dead. I cleaned it up, gave it mouth to snout(yuck)...no luck...

waiting to see if there are any more. Momma is a 1/2 nubian 1/2 boer, 3rd kidding...

I am so disappointed... Little doe had such long legs(like momma). I am so sad.......

i'm very sorry you lost the doe kid. how disappointing.

please, never ever do mouth to mouth with a kid just born. there is the serious risk of zoonotic diseases that can make you very sick.

So Sorry about the dead doeling, That is very dissappointing I'm sure. Did she have anymore yet? Hopefully a nice healthy, live twin sister came after the dead one.

I do the mouth to snout to suck out fluid from the newborn if it seems to be having trouble with excess mucous and problems breathing. I have Lupus too. What am I at risk of getting by doing this?

One time I was doing this and my 6'3" brother watched me and proceeded to turn ashen and slowly slide down the wall saying, "I was ok with all this birthing stuff until I saw that". It was the funniest thing I had ever seen! Still remind him of it too.
