Bottle baby constipated?

What are the signs of constipation in a bottle baby? I haven't seen him poop and we have had him since wendsday. This morning he drank his bottle of whole milk and started cocking head to side and hunching up on himself. Oh and can they get laryngytis? He cried so much that first day now his voice is kind of sqeaky and not as loud. He is me first bottle baby, THanks
Oh and he has been sampling hay and a very small amount of grains and pellet feed. He is one month old. We vaccinated him and wormed him also on wensday.

I can't answer the first question, but babies can get horse from crying sometimes. Mine have on occasion when I wean them.

He just sounds so pittiful. I will be having a doe kids any day now so he'll have someone to play with but for now it's him, my yearling and three full grown does who think he's a pest.

IF he is stopped up you can try a enema with warm water with a syringe without a needele to see if you can get him moving. Sometimes they get this way when stressed. I would say about 3cc's of warm water should see some results. Yes they can get horse from crying mine do when they are getting weaned.but they get over it in a day or 2.

do you have him on cocci prevention? wormed him once for tapes?
if not, now is the right time to do so tapes can stop the peristaltic and kids can die.
i personally do not have young bottle kids with adult animals as they can hurt them really bad.

I was told not to bring him in the house. That they just had him out with the other goats and was acclimated to the outdoors. I did put a sweater sleeve on him and a heat pad in his dog crate that he has been going in to sleep at night and warm up in the day it is only about 14 F degrees here right now and he acts pretty miserable shivering and he keeps running back into his crate. I have a lamp in the barn but with the doors open it only does so much. I wormed him on wensday. And what do you do for cocci prevention?

CityChick, this info is copied from : http://dairygoatinfo.com/index.php/topic,2077.0.html

COPIED:At day 20, start on Cocci prevention. Use Corid or your sulfa, dosages in goatkeeping 101 on dairygoatinfo.com once a day for 5 days then
repeat every 20 days until well grown and on meat goat pellets that contain their cocci med (decoquinate, rumensin, lasalocid, bovatec).
Day 20 Worm with Valbazen 1cc per 10lbs (this is for tapes) Important note is that my
babies are not in pens frequented by adults; so adult worms aren’t a worry for me until my kids are older. If your babies are in with adults than you will have to worm them with your adult wormer, here Cydectin. Worming kids every 3 weeks until weaned and well grown is the best prevention, along with cocci, giving you healthy, robust kids that can be bred their first year. Do not wait for symptoms of cocci or worms and then use treatment, think prevention always.END COPY

Here cocci is a real battle. I will follow this advice and start on day 20. There are previous threads on cocci you might want to review.

He was out with other goat keeping him warm. They huddle together. I would bring him in myself if he is shivering. Not good to have a cold kid.
They also do not like to be alone. Human company for a bottle baby is better then a cold, lonely crate.

I have used glyserine suppositories for babies that I would cut in quarters. Pop that little thing in and baby poops in no time.
