Doe to birth in April

Anyone have all the answer for a new person expecting their first goat kid? We've got a doe (3/4 Boer, 1/4 Alpine) that is to birth in late April.

I've doing research, but I'm not sure if I'm prepared. Do I need to protect for any particular meds the first few days? What about having colustrum on-hand or milk from another goat if this mother won't accept. I'm a bit concerned, because the mother to be is the wildest of our 3 goats. She seems to be getting very ornery the past couple weeks. Is that normal?

I need to be ready for the event, and I'm not quite there.

pleaese advise and thanks in advance.

Well what all do you have already?
I always have in my kidding kit (If I can remember it all).
1. Aspirator. (like for infant children) to clean out any stuff from the mouth hand nose if needed.
2. Nutra Drench. All babies nad mom get it after delivery.
3. Strong Iodine. That belly button needs to be cleaned very well and that is how you prevent Joint Ill. If you can not get the strong Iodine (thank you drug dealers), then Get what you and and dip it if possible three times a day
4. I have powder colostrum at all times.
5. Save a kid tube incase you have to tube the baby.
6. Thermometer. I have like 5 so I always have one handy.
7. clean towels to help dry off the babies if you are there.
8. I always give mom Molasses water after she kids. I let her have as much as she likes for as long as she would like. Most my does only drink it a day but some like it for a couple days.
9. Calcium in case mom needs it after the kidding.

I know there is more but I can not think of it now,

OH the CAMERA

I found http://fiascofarm.com/ to be very helpful with step by step instructions for kidding. I would recommend you go to that site and read, read, read!
