We got stopped coming into Texas last November. They have Texas Animal Health Commission inspectors who occasionally park at the border and stop trucks with livestock trailers.
You must have a current Certificate of Veterinary Inspection.
They will identify the species, number of animals, Brucellosis status, TB status, Age, Breed, Sex, ear tag numbers, and certify that they have been "examined and found to be free of any neurological disease.
Each goat either needs an identifying tattoo or a Scrapies ear tag.
Our vet charged us $35 for five goats.
The inspector said that our inspection was outdated (over 30 days old). He gave us a Warning, and we had to have the goats inspected the next work day and fax in the certificate of inspection.
