Exclamation UPDATE:I owe this forum:Please Read

I posted earlier this week about my sick newborn whos mother would not feed her and neither would the doe who had kidded earlier in the week, I was not prepared at all and was feeling very guilty and thinking due to my irresponsability I would lose my baby, but that didnt happen, the people here did not judge, you all rushed to get me as much information as possible and as many options as you could come up with to accommidate her needs. The day before yesterday she had her first normal poops, the cows milk did wonders! By yesterday morning she was jumping and playing...I had almost givin up, the fact is that by the time I got off the computer that night she was laying with her head in an odd possition and her cry was so weak and her eyes were getting glassy, I really thought I would lose her, I stayed up with her all night that night and by 5am the next morning she was already showing huge improvement!!!! I contribute her life to you, she wouldnt have lived if it wasnt for the help I recieved here! Last night the best thing that could have happend did,,,my other nigerian (who I didn't expect for another week) gave birth to 2 beautiful healthy kids, a boy and a girl, and best of all they were identical in size to my baby, just as she finished up with the second I remembered something I read on here a couple years back and quickly ran up to get my baby, I rubbed the new mothers afterbirth as well as one of her own babies all over mine as she focused on cleaning up the other one, then I snuck it underneather her, immediatly she backed away and put her head down to it, I thought it wasnt gonna work, but instead of head butting her (which neila has been known to do to other does kids) she began vigorously cleaning her, within minutes she was feeding her and fussing over her, by this morning my baby was looking and acting better than ever, she finally has a mommy, and is healthy, and busy, all three babies are doing great, and mamma looks like she has never been more happy or proud, though she gets extremly irritated when my baby wanders away from her, (due to being older I guess) my baby is much more curiouse and adventurous than her babies and she spends alot of time chasing after her and gripng at her till she goes back over with her addoptive brother and sister...its cute lol
anyway, thank you again, I know I have read recently about some upset n this forrum, but I have always gotten the help I needed hereno matter how urgent, big or small, I have always gotten quick response, honest opinions, and helpful advice as well as sometimes just the sympathetic ear that I need or words of encouragment to get me through, I may not know many of you in person, but I feel as though I have a large group of friends that I can always count on for whatever kind of help I need. I cannot express my gratatude enough, so again I will just say thank you. The people here never cease to amaze.

This was simply put, heartwarming. Thank you for just a sincere and uplifting post. I'm a lurker here. I don't have goats at the moment, but I love reading about the adventures and misadventures. I keep learning from others good and bad experiences. I hope to have goaties again and I will be ready, armed with the mind boggling amount of information that I received from the members here.

What a great read. I'm happy everything turned out well for you and the kids. I agree that this forum has been a wellspring of great advice and help. If the more experienced folks here weren't generous enough to share their knowledge with us, a lot of us would be in big trouble.

It really was. What a sweet and wonderful story So glad things are working out and so glad you're here as a super contributor to the forum.

Oh yes one more thing, one of the biggest rules on this forum is that pictures are a must. Just kidding, but we do love them...just ask Minelson!

Wooo Hooo!!! Great news!

I do have to add something though. Check each tummy to make sure they are round and full and that all kids are getting enough. I had a doe with triplets where two would latch onto a teat each and drain it leaving nothing for the third. The third wasn't aggressive enough to get in there. Just a heads up... in case...

Thats just wonderful news! The people on here are always helpful... some can be a little assertive, but thats just because they know what they are talking about!
