and he is crying some

Is he staring off into space any? I am by no means the most experienced person here, but maybe its goat polio? If so you need to give thiamine injections.

Hopefully someone more experienced will be along to help soon.

If you have nothing on hand call a breeder that does or go right off to the vET

Is there a chance the little guy is constipated? Could he have gotten hurt somehow? Did you take his temp?

are there other signs of bloat? is his belly tight like a drum? I would give him pepto and more baking soda and get him to somebody that has accesss to meds, do you have clsotridium antitoxin on hand? vaccinations aren't 100%. are you feeding him milk or replacer? get him to someone with experience and meds NOW if you can.

Are you sure he is utd on shots and it cannot be tetnaus ?

Your dealing with one of these

tetnaus
polio
cd toxin
entro
injury

I would get some cdt antitoxin , antibiotic and b vitamins..

You need to get a temp on this kid and look for other signs.

I need to go to class so hopefully someone else will jump in.

Call the breeder NOW or a local breeder.

Patty

I agree with Patty. Likely not injury though. Is he hunched at all? You need to act asap or you will lose this kid. I hope the vet gets there.

OK a ? about the hunched thing does it point to any specific thing? I saw this baby at the sale a week or 2 ago that I loved his ears and coloring just did not look right very hunched in the middle so I did not get him. Just wondering if this is something to look for and what it could be.

6 weeks is pretty likely tetanus.

It's a little early in the year for the whole failure of kids due to cocci and worming, that will start next month.

A 6 week old buck can't be up to date on his shots, so entero is another possiblity although thats really really young.

It's too young also for urinary calculi.

Are you feeding milk or replacer.

Did he get more than he normaly does? Was the bottle colder than normal?

Huge is what is the temp? Is it elevated...103+ because then it would be bacterial or viral.

You can call 281-592-3039. I would be talking to someone local so you can get drugs from them now or at least have him looked over with experienced eyes. vicki

"his back legs are stiff"

i think tetanus too.
you really need to go to a vet with him if you want to save him

If he does not make it PLEASE have him necropsied!

If it can be determined that it is indeed tetanus, probably from disbudding- it happens- the findings would need to go to his breeder and the two of you can decide on what course of action to take. Personally, I would replace a kid if that is what happened and I were the breeder.

How long have you had him?
