Overweight goats and UC?

Something my vet said has been nagging at me. He thinks UC has more to do with being overweight than anything else, mainly because every goat he's seen with it has also been overweight. Of course feeding grain can also cause overweight, so it would tricky to separate the two factors.

I'd really be interested in hearing about any cases of UC and if you can remember if the goat was overweight or not and on grain or not.

I hope he's wrong, because my wethers seem to stay slightly overweight even on just browse and hay. And we have had to switch from bermuda to orchard/alfalfa hay this week (another story) which will, I'm sure, make them pack on the pounds.

i had one buck wit uc and he was definitely not overweight.
uc is caused by unbalanced diet too high in potassium, rarely of too much calcium.
