Emergency, Sick baby!!!!
Ok last night my ND became a first time mom, one problem, she hate her baby and has no milk, for almost three hours I tryed everything to get her to accept it and masssaged her little utter and squeezed teets and she refuses to accept the baby ( left her crying and shivering in a corner) and no milk came....I had a mini nubian give birth to twins two nights ago so I tryed grafting baby to her...no dice, I even tryed to vapor rub trick, she wouldnt accept the new kid, so I made my son hold her and I put the baby on her teet because at this point the baby was almost six hours old and she had to had to have something.....well when that was done mom started kicking her own kids around as well as this baby so I realized this baby was going to stress her out way too much so I would have to feed her myself, I fed her through the night with formula 911 and kid milk replacer and she did great, was playful and perky and a hefty eater,,, I was worried because she hadnt pooped yet, so I called the vet, then while waiting for him to call back she pooped, it was like little squishy black beads, which was ok, but she didnt stop, and then it turned to watery mustard looking stuff, and she just kept pooping, I was told to treat for scours, so have given pepto and a dose of the meds from the vet (a big white pill that she hates) now she doesnt want to eat all she does is lay around and every now and then cry...I dont want to lose her, is there anything I can do? I did try again with her mom today, thinking the baby will be better off iff she has mom, but mom still has nothing, what would cause a doe not to come into milk? I have never had this happen,,,any remedy??? how can I save this baby???? Please help

Did she get colostrum? You need to get rid of the milk replacer right away and start her on whole milk from the store...

Formula 911 is not a replacement for colustrum unless its a commercially made one .
I would have worked with mom until I got some out. Hot compreeses. the likely hood is she still has her wax plugs and that is why you cannot get milk.Try milking her and feel the end of the teat for a little waxy feeling plug , use your nails to get it out . Sometimes you have to squeese just the end of the teat to work it out.
Unless this baby gets colustrum within 24 hours its chances are not good. I prefer within 6 hours because every hour after that decreases the absorbtion rate .

Patty is right.... 911 is not a replacement for colostrum. Do you have access to any colostrum replacers?

Is the mini nube still giving colostrum? If she delivered a few nights ago, she probably is. I would steal some of that and/or call around and see if anyone around you has some and get it in that baby quickly.
I agree with Patty and would work and work to get milk out of that ND.
I hope this goes well.

I fed her the one time from the mini nub......do know about wax plugs, did work the teets out many times last night and today, and after a few hours I figure nothings coming, besides massage and hot towels what else could i try???? couldnt find any colostrum in town today, had some froze from last year but lost it along with everything else in our deepfreeze when it quit working a couple months ago....I always thought whole milk would be too harsh thats why i did replacer

Colustrum from a doe who freshened a few days ago really isn't gonna be helpful . The quality decreases after every milking and by 3 days is gone , but its worth a shot .
Also helpful would be bo-se and b- vitamins.
You may have to tube the baby , but check temp first . Never tube a kid with a low temp. get the temp up first then tube.

Yep, I just figured it would be better than nothing. I should have been more clear.
Is the baby in your home with you and being kept warm? Right now, that's really, really important. I would also call the vet and see if they have a source of colostrum. Hopefully, she got a bit from the min-nube, albeit degraded, and does well on the replacer/whole milk. I wish I was close enough to help

Yes, but the kid MUST have colostrum within the first 24 hours of birth to really have a chance.... If you really want to save this kid, you may have to call a vet for some colostrum. I hope she makes it for you!

Don't get attached. I cannot imagine feeding her with a glove , but if it works go for it .
This is a learning experience and why some of us get fustrated with folks . Do not take it personel.
If you do not have colustrum in the freezer you should have a good replacement on hand . Several kinds of nipples on hand . the very basics in meds , needles , all the O ---- supplys .
We should have a medicine box sticky of what everyone should have on hand.
