Ligaments Question...

I have read that the ligaments on the doe can come and go as she gets close to kidding.I have also read that they loose the ligs about 24 hrs before.
My Question is has anyone ever checked the doe and had ligs present and had the doe kid that day? Is it possible that the doe can loose her ligs in a short time prior to kidding?
