pedigree gurus....

up until now I just haven't had much desire to learn much about lineages. maybe its winter boredome but I've decided to try to actually find something out about the only goat that I have actual records on. never sent in the papers but I at least know her sire and dam. I don't know how far I will get or how long my attention span will be on this but I'm gonna see what I can learn. but I don't have a clue where to start! I looked up her parents on adga but the pedigree doesn't mean anything to me its just a bunch of names and I can feel the frustration building already! so where do you suggest I start? I figure using my own goat to start makes it feel a bit more relevant rather than just randomly asking for info about different lines.

Purebred Lamancha doe with some outstanding bloodlines in her distant past, she is polled so half her kids will be polled.

Purebred Nubian sire, he is as his pedigree name says a menagerie

No data on any of the animals in his currect pedigree with only 2 register progeny. No inbreeding at all, in fact as low as you can get without being crossbred.

I would choose to go LaMancha with this animal. Vicki

thanks! now when I look at it I see the key in indicating shh was polled. how silly I didn't notice that before!

which bloodlines do you see that are considered outstanding on the doe? is there a % of inbreeding that at somepoint is generally considered completley unacceptable or does that depend too much on the quality of the animal?

this is the buck she was bred to last year (*I think*... if memory of his name serves me). anything on him thats decent?
