Is this it? YES THIS WAS IT

I have a doe that I have posted about before been driving me crazy for a month total. Well went out to check on her and she pooped then squatted to pee and nothing well I looked at her belly and the hollowing from where she dropped seems like she undropped and I stayed with her for about 10 to 15 minutes, she squatted 2 more times and no pee. I have been checking her every 1 1/2 to 2 hours today. 1/2 inch of ice covered by 2 inches of sleet that turned to snow about noon Friday was almost 60 degrees. I have not seen any goop but the squatting without peeing is worring me I have totted water to keep her water open but it gets very cold very quick. I have everything I hope I need gathered. This doe is skitzy but if I sit down in her stall she is OK with me or if I am on the other side of the portition from her going back out to keep her company fo0r a while. I will check back in as I come in to thaw. My sister is here for the nasty weather so I do not have to worry about the humabn kids thank goodness.

It's nasty over here too. Where in Oklahoma are you? I'm about 20 minutes from Kingfisher. I sure hope your doe will be okay.

I am mid way between mustang and Union City. My billy that I recently purchased I believe came from someone in Kingfisher.

Well nothing last night so stayed in bed from 3:30 unil 6 and went to check on her she is streaming this AM 8 to 10 inches but it is white. She has had very small amounts for a month and then a strem about 6 inches or so about 1 1/2 weeks ago. I sure wish I had a date for this girl. Which remonds me I have to pull blood for the test on my herd queen.

if she has an 8-10 inch glob of mucous then I say she will kid today most likely although the mucous is usually more clearish and it might just be a larger bit of the plug. the squatting and no pee coming out is typical for my girls when getting close to labor. I remember doing that myself a few times when I was really pregnant! are her ligaments gone? is her udder tight? I can't stand not having a date.

IT"S A GIRL!!! Will have pictures up ASAP I only have phone pics for now had the good camera out but battery was worn down. Brought her in long enough to dry and took her back to mom has had COL and mom is doing awesome as a mom. I also think maybe this kidding will break the final barriar about her being quite as skitzy as she was. Well she did great about 1 hour of contractions then about 30 minutes from streaming until pushing then 15 minutes I did help straighten the legs as both hooves and face presented at once, and she did not progress through about 4 pushes after I straigthened a couple of more pushes and she was out.

I am completely new at this and will try to bump again when hubby get home from work she is a FF so I was expecting one but hoping for twins. Her afterbirth is on its way out and I believe normally if there are twins usually the afterbirth comes after 2nd baby. Will post better pictures when I get camera charged.

Congratulations. I don't think the bumping is very reliable. It would be better, IMO, to do a very quick, gentle sweep (pelvic) to see if there is anything else in there. It is best to do this fairly soon after birth of one without progress of another.

I do not know this so am asking: Can they have another baby in there after the placenta is delivered? I thought that yes, they can but I do not know for sure.

A uterus in a goat is like a heart, it has two horns to it, not the big bag ours is. So 1, 2 or 3 kids can be up in one horn with a placenta, and 1, 2 or 3 kids can be up in another horn with a placenta. So normally you have 1 or 2 kids a placenta delivered and then 1 more kid and a placenta. Vicki

ok another ? will the 2nd horn stream before kids I realize they should come one right after the other but as her after birth came out (all the nasty stuff) a stream of the amber gunk came and it is still there however it got really long then broke off but there is still about 8+ inches hanging or is this possibly just more afterbirth. The goat was chasing her afterbirth like a cat chases it's tail. I have bumped but not sure what to be feeling for and now that baby is walking around she is not as fond of me touching her unless I am helping the baby find the teat.

One of the biggest reasons bumping isn't reliable, IMO. I would again advise going in and doing a very gentle weep to make sure there is not another kid in there. Sometimes you don't have to go in very far before you feel another baby on it's way out.

well I went in as far as I could, I am six feet amazon woman with man hands, and I could only get 2 fingers in about 3 inches felt around did not feel anything. I called my grandmother , her and grandpa had a cow dairy for years, after the birth she said she was so proud but would never have believed that I would go back country on her ( done the RAT RACE thing for a while ) but she loves the fact that one of the grandkids has.
