Make sure you have your kidding supplies ready. Can you feel her ligaments? Sounds like she's about ready.

Why do you think she's not as dilated as she should be?

If you can feel a hoof, you are probably not having to worry about dilation. If she is pushing and not progressing, you probably do need to go in and feel for that other hoof pretty darned soon. You don't want her to wear herself out pushing in a presentation she can't deliver, and you don't want to lose the kids. On the other hand, patience is important, especially when you are new. I was this way last year, "Should I go in, should I wait, am I being too impatient, am I being too slow to respond?" Fun stuff that even experience doesn't fully alleviate for some.

From the posting history, it looks like she has been this way for several hours now. When did you first feel the foot? If it has been over an hour, I would certainly be in there (probably sooner if it were me) trying to find the other hoof and determine if they are rear hooves or front hooves.

The FiascoFarm website can help you on what to expect too. Have you been there?

i'd wait unless you saw the water bag burst. I remember your last doe who was in labor and the outcome ended up being bad. So be patient yet

ya last doe...bad stuff with her dont wana mess up again. mentor said when i saw her "pushing" she was prob just streching or trying to postion kids, today more goop, but its the "right" consistancy now, she looks more swollen , called mentor again, she says today for sure. Im just so nervious and dont want anything to happen....cant wait for this one to be over cause then it will probably be easyer(for me)
oh ya and this morning she sneezed and goop came flying out so shes prob pretty open rihgt?

I hope everything goes well for you this time. Sounds like she's pretty open if sneezing will cause goop to fly.

Honey I have been a absolute nervous wreck for a month. Then Jordan let me know OKAY this is really it this time and BAM I had to help straigten the front legs other then that she is a great mom and a FF to boot. and the weight off my shoulders is huge I wil be keeping a close eye on mom and baby due to the temps today but other then that all bases have been covered.

Yup, every hour or two. If it was me, it would be at least every hour - I get antsy

oh ya one more question, seperat her from the others or no? I just moved so i olny have a 3 sided shelter for them (filled wiht straw hay for bed) and no barn or kidding pen. but my back yard is small, fenced in and she has been in there a few times, however its really really far away from the goat pen, would moving her stress her or be good?

Is she just in with other doe's? Are they used to each other? All three of mine delivered with the others around and there were no problems. If it's cold I would definitely leave here where she's at with the 3sided shelter.
