Question

I have a doe who is sneezing and has a bit of a runny nose. All else is fine. I had VetRx but can't find it and think it's in the small barn. There is too much snow to get to it. I have peppermint and I have human Zicam (works great on humans)...my question is can I use the Zicam on the goat??? Anything else?

Thanx

Is she running a temp. and is she acting normal otherwise? I don't know about the Zicam but I do think sometimes that they might get a little allergy to the hay, etc. and even a cold sometimes just like people do. I have given a doe Dimetapp for a runny nose before & that seemed to help, but I think she has allergies, since it only get's like that in the summer.

She is fine in every respect except she was sneezing. I'll keep a close eye on her. How much Dimetapp?? Since you mentioned allergies I wonder if it was the stable dry I sprinkled.

Here's some snow pics......wasn't kidding I can't make it to the little barn!

The small barn...unused this winter.

Question - Goats

My new barn. Just loving it. I can watch all my babies from the window. Does a momma's heart good to be able to keep watch so closely.

A little peppermint oil in the nostrils will work just great!

Boy, You have got a ton of snow!! I think you need some snow shoe's.

I give my doe 3 tsp. of dimetapp(I actually have the store brand) if her nose is really stuffy or running. She's a Nigerian dwarf & probly about 45 pounds. Like now her nose is good, but it usually starts acting up a little in late spring & summer, then she's fine again. Otherwise she's healthy, happy, normal goat.

Gorgeous pics, and I love both of your barns

And don't roll your eyes, but I would love to get just one snowfall like that. Just one. Enough to play in!

Okay....bring a shovel! I am so blessed my husband indulges me. He's also a great contractor! My ex husband couldn't change a light bulb.

Colleen is fine today. She just wanted extra attention. These goats have my number for sure!

I just found your post. I did put some peppermint oil in her nostrils because I've found that works good for me!

Wow, your hubby built your barns? You ARE blessed. My boy, dear though he may be, is no handyman, much less a contractor.

Glad Colleen is better today
