First Babies of the kidding season Pics

Buttons my black paint doe kidded for the first time all by herself. I thought she had a few more days to go. I went out to do evening chores, turned on the barn lights........babies crying! What a surprise, twins, licked off, dry. standing up, had nursed, Buttons had passed her afterbirth, wsa talking to her kids. Like "no big deal" Excellent mother.
Button chose a warmer day and the kids find the heat barrel a cozy spot.

12 more to kid in mid February

Good looking kids - love their markings. Isn't it nice when Momma knows what to do?

Counting down until my big Boer girls are due - about 5 or 6 weeks now.
