CONGRATS... so happy you got girls & spotted girls at that! I was happy enough with the buckling you from me last year (wanted to keep him and tell you..oh sorry, Tess only had solid girls LOL)... couldn't do that LOL..so I repeated the breeding, this year... and kept a buckling for me! (and the spots were just icing on the cake)
here's Orbie, just lounging in the kitchen on a cold winter evening.

(((kidding starts here soon. Can't wait to see what the girls have. Hoping Cold also passes on his spots & his temperment. Shirley is due first and she's as big as a house. I'm hoping for a long, deep, lovely head & earred girl with...darn--should I even say the word?... spots!! LOL.. actually, I'll just be happy with a really nice, long, very dairy girl with good breed character..even if she's just brown...that said. Shirley will probably have quad bucks. LOL...--oh, this is the doe I think you are going to want to pick a buck from this time)))

They have got to be some of the cutest (Dorkweed excepted, of course) babies I have ever seen. Is there a name for that coat coloring?

The dam is out of a buck that had spots as a baby.He looked like a deer fawn but faded as he matured. The sire to the doe kids is spotted, the third pic is his baby picture.I didn't mean to breed for spotted kids, just kind of happened.I just fell in love with yarrow's herdsire Morrie and would have taken a plain jane brown buck, but got lucky and got a loud one.My herdsire has his sweet temper and has some darn good udders behind him genetically.I am very happy with the results so far and can't wait to see what the rest of the herd has.I am pretty certain I am going to sell both Lilly and Spotted Rose,I let the six yr old daughter name them.I have a couple other does I would prefer to retain doe kids out of.I am very happy how she freshened but have a very limited number of kids I can retain this year.Sorry for the novel. Christina
ETA I loved Shirley,so yes I am crossing my fingers, just not for quad bucks lol.

looked back thru last year's newborn kid pics.. found a pic of cballard's buck as a baby. That's him, looking at the camera... I **THINK** the brown doeling behind him also went home with Chistina.

.... here's a pic of his mom. Tess is by no means a *show doe* BUT.. she comes from nice lines, has a lovely personality, enjoys milks/is easy to milk/milks a lot (all of which are very important to me LOL)... and she always has spotted babies, who have spotted babies..

here are a couple of Tess' grand-kids that I brought back into the herd.

I love those spotted goats, especially that fist doeling. I have two spotted does. So far, Diamond hasn't given me any spotted doelings, just one buck with small spots, the does are both solid with white on their sides. This will be Foxy's first freshening. I hope they both give me a spotted doeling.
