Question Too soon?

I have two first timers with a due date of March 23rd. Over the last 24-48 hrs I swear the two of them have "popped". They are now noticeably pregnant and tonight I could have sworn I saw some slight movement in one does side.

My first reaction was that it was a baby, since it reminded me of my own pregnancy. So were my eyes playing tricks on me, or is it possible that I was actually seeing a kid(s) trying to get comfy at this point in the pregnancy?

Nothing out of the ordinary - just their usual feed. I've seen other animals (and few humans) do the "pop" thing. Probably an illusion brought on by being in daily contact and then suddenly realizing what has been before your eyes all along.

On which side did you see the movement? Was it on the goat's left side? If so, that was probably her working rumen - a good thing. I have one doe that has an INCREDIBLE rumen. I have had a couple of judges comment on it working neatly in the ring. It's like watching a big, slow wave.

Two of my does did that this year. I had them housed several miles away from my buck and was about to haul them over to rebreed when they "popped" and it became obvious that they were pregnant.

It was on the right side. Both my 4 yr old daughter and I saw it and she immediately asked if that was a baby moving.
