Minelson, you can make cookies all darn morning..

That is what I have been doing since 8 am and I am so tired of it! If one more person asks me for cookies I am going to scream too. I have a vet appt at 5 pm and they too asked me for cookies.
I thought I would take a 5 min break and look on here but nope can't see any pictures or anything.

better cookies then the mess I am in right now 2 cases of bananas being mashed to make into bread. My husband got them free as a damaged shipment because the ends got frooze and I have been waiting for them to get ripe enough for bread, so had a total of 3 cases. So got the most bananay smelling hands right now I gave up with the potatoe masher and I am using the salad shooter now.

Ha Ha Minelson. You want cookies you have to come and get them. I only serve locally, well I did ship to ID too But you will go home with little goat babies if ya visit, lol.

I think I would secretly feed the bananas to my animals so I would not have to make all that bread. I love my kitchen gadgets too but never thought to use a salad shooter

I hear you! I made 6 diffrent kind of cookies; and I did two doz of each one, so I would have something to give my friends and neighbors for Christmas. Oh and I also put together some hot cocoa mix; am so tired of cookies that I am ready to move on to something else, maybe the sour dough bread or the wheat bran bread. I just can never seem to do anything in small amounts; I wonder if it comes from growing up cooking for 10 people.

32 loaves of banana bread 5 dozen oatmeal lace cookies and sugar cookie dough in the refrig If I ever take this much baking on again I think I will have a nervous breakdown 1/2 through.....did have a small one last night our family dog passed away everyone thought he was goofy but I loved him and I knew what his barks meant. Well we got a female pyr pup about 1 month ago so that helps a little but she is the goats dog really. I have to finish the Christmas shopping tomorrow after meeting my hubby after work to drop the kids off tomorrow night is going to be a Calgon night for me.

This is the first year I have not baked cookies or breads. I took a job baking for 4 schools, 2 elementary, 1 middle school and one highschool. I baked all day, every day since August and quite frankly I'm on vacation and don't think I want to cut out another Christmas cookie! I was baking and decorating cookies every day for nearly two weeks, along with fudge, rosettes, banana breads and pumpkin breads...etc., etc. I told my girlfriend to send me pictures of hers so I could post them on my blog and say I baked them! Ha! So bake away ladies and send me your pictures so I can take ownership and people out of my loop won't think I'm a grinch.

I am insanely jealous of all of you. Four nights ago I awoke to the smell of propane through the house We shut it off at the tank, but the 8 inches of snow we've gotten since then has made it a little harder to find exactly where the leak is coming from. So all my cooking has been done on my little electric hotplate. No Christmas cookies for me unless I use Cannon Farm's method.

On the bright side, the house didn't explode (always a good thing) and those Wallyworld sugar cookies are pretty good! Wonder how they get that little hint of orange flavor to them, I haven't been able to re-create that in my kitchen yet.

Merry Christmas!

So glad the house did not blow up. As for the sugar cookies at walmart, use lemon or orange flavoring instead of vanila.

Thanks guys! We feel lucky! I just really want to cook something in the oven - but keep feeling grateful that my oven isn't halfway up a tree with the rest of my house. DH thinks it might have been a connector, so we're going to Home Depot for the part today.

Why did I never think of the bottled orange flavoring? Let me tell you, a little splash of orange juice doesn't work, and a little bit of orange zest just comes out nasty.

I am glad your house and oven are still where they are suppose to be. I had a propane incident a few years ago, very embarassing and I still get teased about it. But thankfully it was in the summer and the vented that stink into the air all night. Good thing you smelled it.
Orange extract will work since it is more powerful than just juice. I do not like sugar cookies so I have never tried theirs. I made butter cookies, I made shapes and used little sugar crystals. I should have used made them round and sprinkled them, would have saved myself a few hours. I just have to keep reminding myself it is once a year and people enjoy the cookies.
I am still making cookies today this time for my own house. My kids beg me and even though I would rather throw the cookie sheets out the window I am going to be making the last of them today. Then I swear I do not want to see a stinking cookie till around Easter!
Merry Christmas and hope you all get out of the kitchen soon

Oh soooo funny. Maybe you could get friends together next year and each bring a few dozen cookies of one kind. Then you could make trays and have all kinds of cookies for your family without all the fuss and mess.
