Pink eye but not "pinkeye"?

My wether's eye seems to have lost color around the rim. This isn't a great picture, but here is his normal eye, which is edged in brown:

The edge of his other eye (and the corner of his eye) has lost the brown color, as well as any tiny hairs that are in that area. His eye isn't clouded, sensitive to light, or weeping. It doesn't seem to itch or bother him at all. He does get a small morning crust in the corner of that eye, but once I clean it off, it doesn't return that day.

Here's the affected eye:

Any clue what this is?

Do you have a nice loose mineral out that contains a good amount of copper, also in another form other than just copper sulfate? Loosing hair around the eyes is a sign of copper defficency. Vicki

Vicki, that had crossed my mind...wondering if it was a variety of "spectacle eye." He shows no other signs, though. His coat is a nice golden brown and his tail has no real fishtail to it. Would it be common to see no other indications and only one eye affected?

Unfortunately, I can't find a mineral around here that isn't copper sulfate. The one I do use has 1800ppm copper (Golden Blend).
