Age to breed my Boer doe's?

What is a good age to breed my Boer doe's? I have dairy goats but we are just getting into meat goats this year. Thank you!

We like to wait 10 mos and 100lbs.

Minimum 8 months and 80 lbs. Depends a bit on how you are feeding/managing them. The more they are strictly forage based the older/heavier it is better for them to be, as they may not be able to get enough nutrition to feed their growing kids as well as themselves.

Some show breeders wait until the goats are 1 year of age. We like to put ours to work sooner than that - and they still continue to grow well and show well.

The first couple of times I bred mine we did the 8 mos 80lbs but the kids didn't do so well.The last couple of years we have waited till they are at least a year and the moms and kids do much better. Of course you also have to take into account the learning curve for the owners too.
