Minimum 8 months and 80 lbs. Depends a bit on how you are feeding/managing them. The more they are strictly forage based the older/heavier it is better for them to be, as they may not be able to get enough nutrition to feed their growing kids as well as themselves.
Some show breeders wait until the goats are 1 year of age. We like to put ours to work sooner than that - and they still continue to grow well and show well.
