Family Farm & Home Stores?

Does anyone on here go to the Family Farm & Home Stores located in Michigan? I see that there is one located in Coldwater, MI, which is about 40 minutes from me. I was just wondering how they compare to the TSC stores. I have one of those located about 25 minutes from me, but it seems that they never stock their shelves. I noticed that they carry the Standlee Alfalfa pellets (that's what peeked my interest).

Thanks,
Jonell

I never heard of that store but would be interested since I haven't been really happy with TSC lately. I don't think there is one around my area though?

Im actually leaving right now to go to the one in Mason MI. They carry alot of the stuff that TSC does. I shop around before I buy something from either because sometimes one has it cheaper than the other. I am going to go get the pellets right now and they sell them for 12.99 here. (I was getting pellets from a local elevator for about 50 cents cheaper but really dusty and the standlee pellets smell so much better like real hay)

One thing I do like about FF&H is that everyone that works there knows animals. They have a goat person, a rabbit person, a chicken person and if the specific person is not working they will call them if they cant answer the question.

Backfourty......there is one in Gladwin, MI that is about an hour from you if I'm not mistaken? I understand your frustration with TSC, everytime I go into pick something up, the spot where it's supposed to be is empty and it's always "on the next truck". So, I ask when the next truck is supposed to be in, and when I go back that day, "it didn't come in".

Gunnie......thanks for the info, I think that I'm going to go check out the one in Coldwater, the price on their Standlee alfalfa pellets are the same that I'm paying for them at TSC and Rural King, neither of which seem to be all that great of brands. And it would be nice to have someone in a store for once that didn't look at me like I had goat horns growing out of my head. LOL.

I just took back 2 different bags of alfafa pellets bought at 2 different TSC stores. None of my goats would eat them & the one bag had like light colored powdery looking stuff that I still don't know what it was. I tried to tell them alfafa pellets should be green & the manager looked at me like I was nuts! They gave me my money back anyways & I bought some at a local feed store. The only reason I like the ones at TSC was they were small in size & since most places sell them for horses they are bigger & I think harder for the goats to eat.

I live close to the one in Gladwin. I actually ike FFH better than TSC. Prices usually cheaper and a better selection than TSC. There is also one in ALMA.
