Do Nubians & Saanens make good crosses?

I haven't been able to find any Nubian bucks around in my area (within 2 hours of me). Yes, I've looked on duhgoatman. We found an Oberhasli breeder to take our Ober doe to. This breeder also has Saanen bucks. I'm thinking that we ought to just take our Nubian there to be bred.

I'd like to find out more about the Saanen bucks, of course (dam/sister/daughter udders & milking records) but if all that's in good order... are Nubian/Saanen crosses pretty good?

Yes, the Snubian is a good goat. That is of course if the quality of the parents are good.
I've had several. The best ones were Nubian/Sable Saanen twins. They milked like a Saanen with the butterfat of a Nubian.

Sure! If you don't mind slightly goofy ears.

Hey that little one has built in jewlery. Very cool looking where they're (Never sure which their/there/they're to use) located. I love those "suprise" looking ears.

We have a cross like this little guy. They make very good milkers and fit right into the herd. Of course, I don't know what is sad to them privately about their..airplane ears..during play time. Life is cruel sometimes ??

I've seen the cutest Saanen X Nubian. I wish I had a picture! She was at our fair, her name was Snoopy. (little kids named her) She was a pretty golden color, and her mama was a Nubian and her daddy was a Saanen. She honestly had her mamas ear size and her daddys ear carrige. No joke! These were not even airplane ears! They were enormous Nubian ears sticking up like a Saanens! She was a sweetheart, too. I tried to buy her, but of course she wasnt for sale. Her owner said lots of people had tried to buy her. She was nicely built.

Anyway, thats all I can say about them. I dont know anything about their performance, though.

I'm sure that the snubian would be a nice mix. I do have a nuberhasli that's our family's favorite goat and she's beautiful. You might also consider using the Ober buck.
