ND Buck acting weird

I know it's really hot & humid here the last couple days but he seems to be acting more bucky than normal, peeing on himself more(not that I am down there all the time), him & his buddy wether have really been going at it today too, Both of his scurs have been knocked off(they were about 1 inch or so long) so I'm sure he has a headache. The bleeding looks like it's stopped. This is not the 1st time they have been knocked off though.
None of my doe's seem to be in heat, normally I can tell because when they are out to browse who ever's in heat hangs out at the boys pen. None of the girls seem interested in him. He has plenty of shade & actually has been in the woods all afternoon.
I guess my question is do ND buck's have a rut period or only when the doe's are in heat.
Oh & he really seems to want you to love on him more today too, & you all know how I smell then just from rubbing his head.

I am afraid to tell you that my ND bucks act like this all year long. They are constantly putting on a show for the ladies whenever they see them. And none of the does have to be in heat for this display to occur. It actually seems to be something that they do as a form of competition or something. One will pee on his beard and then the other has to follow suit. Then one lifts his lip after he licks his ****, and begins the mock fighting. He will get all the others going and before you know it I have gladiator games in my pasture. Just much smellier and no laurels on the winners head. I try not to touch those boys heads if I can help it and it figures that all of my bucks are super affectionate and desire to be with you. Yuck!!!!

It seems that my bucks (Boer, Boer/Kiko) are all smelly a little sooner than they were last year.

Yep, I am not at all surprised to hear that him and his wether buddy are gong at it. I have three bucks in a large pen together and they do just fine, but about two to three weeks ago the BIG boy has decided that if one of the other boys even get NEAR the fence, he will chase them away. it is like "do not think about getting near my girls", so right now yes I am not surprised that they are doing a lot more head butting and fighting. Just be careful, that wether has no chance against a buck in rut, so make she he does not get hurt.

Yep, there is a MiniMancha buck in this neck of the woods known as "Mr. Testosterone"......a pretty disgusting sight to visitors.
