biting lice

Anyone know how long it takes for them to die once they are off their host?

All the girls and new little buckling got shaved and will be getting baths later this week with DeFlea, a natural bug killer. (they had to tell me it wasn't tested on goats before giving me any information)

They are in a different pen, away from any hair and bedding I couldn't get up or cracks and crevices that couldn't be sprayed.

DE did not work when tried in the past. And I cannot handle chemicals, even if someone else applies Seven dust, I will still have to handle the goats.

Again, these are biting lice, not sucking lice.
