Need some advice here

I go to a sale every week trying to buy pigs, but there isnt any these hot summer months. I decided to buy goats for milking, at least a few for milking, but 90% of all goats sold here are Boer, or Boer crosses, and of course, at a auction theres no way to know what there crossed with, as they almost always have the white body with the red head, neck, SO, I was wondering what kind of milkers Boers make, say compaired to Nubians?

If you are buying from a sale the only thing I can tell you is the either way you are likely to purchase a cull. You might get lucky with the economy the way it is, or you might be buying a CL or CAE or chronic mastitis infected animal that won't live long anyway. I cull to the freezer, but most cull to the sale barn. I would look for ads in the local trader, or the internet.

Maybe check Craig's List? A lot of people are evaluating their herds right now and deciding which goats to keep and which to sell.

Total Herd dispersal/ in milk now.
These are Saanens, Alpines, and Crosses with Togg and Obie mixed
90 Milkers
15 Dry
3 Saanen Bucks/bucklings
1 Saanen/Alpine Buck
1 Alpine Buckliing
10-15 Babies (kidded out in 4/08) These little Doelings are crosses.
Come from the above listed Does and a Nubian Buck.
We do not have registered stock. We are a milking farm and was to
much work involved to worry over papers. These are not "show" goats
but
we do have some nice looking Does.
Please only serious inquires only. We are pretty much tied down
right now keeping things going.
I am not able to continue and my husband is on the truck 7 days a
week.
Please pass this post along to others you might know that are
interested.
We have Does that are worth 200 and 250 and then some that are along
the 150 side. But in all fairness we are asking 175 each if you can
take all.
My husband and I haven't yet discussed the price on the Bucks or the
Doelings yet. Need to sell as group ASAP. Please help me pass the
word around
Thanks
